Wow, I thought I had a lot of machines. In all fairness some of mine are in cabinets and are treadles. Then again some aren't. Wonderful collection. Enjoyed looking at yours.

I really don't know the actual value-----I have kept track of what I paid----but have had some really good luck in finding them at low cost------the featherweights, especially the red one, were the most expensive......Actually, I have 46 vintage machines all together......I didn't get them all in a picture.....they are all over my condo----every side table, practically, is a sewing machine cabinet....I am a widow and retired and my children live in Des Moines and Wichita so this is what I do for excitement in my life......and the kids support me in it and my quilting.....I am so blessed to have their support and am having great fun!
this is how You live in a condo? No attached converted 3 car garage? Great job with the displays. :::::::::::grannie thinking a two car garage that hubby wants might be a good backdrop for my not running collection::::::::::::::::::::::::: |

Great collection! |
Great job on the stash management - I hardly noticed the fabric for all the beautiful machines. And I was worried about buying a second Bernina! Thanks for sharing.
I am in awe of your courage to do this... I have downsized bit of my stash , but never have had the strenght to make the "sweeping" changes that you have. My hats off to you.
By the way all those vintage machines are just wonderful. |
Wow! Those are great! I love my daughter, but I will be glad when she gets settled in her job and gets her own apartment. Then...I can display my machines. Oh, and I'm up for a play date. LOL
What an amazing collection!! Thanks for sharing them with us!

Thanks for sharing your collection with us. It's amazing that they all work except one. Do you use them on a regular basis? It would be fun to be in a room of vintage machines that several people were operating at once. Too bad we all don't live closer and then we could play and learn from you how to use all the attachments. I have a treadle, a fw and a hand crank besides newer machines.
WOW!! you have more Singers than an OPERA!!!
Lovely machines. I want to come play too!!

Wow! Each "baby" is beautiful in it's own right and I can see why you started collecting. I just found a circa 1956 Featherweight at a local antique fair and was sooooooo excited to find it worked and had many spare bobbins, 3 extra feet and the original manual. Don't know if I got a deal or not, but I was happy. I will use it for piecing. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That's impressive!!!!
I was fortunate to see them in person. They are beautiful machines.

Just can't stop looking at all those beautiful machines. Just LOVE the FWs, you have such a wonderful collections.
Tks for sharing. |
OOOOOO!!! I love your collection!! I wish I had all the room you have. Mine are stashed under shelves and under my quilt frame and behind my work table. I only have a few out in plain sight. My DH doesn't really want them all over the house, so I have to kinda restrict them to the sewing room. Yours look great!!
Love your collection!!!! That is amazing.
I should show this to my family. They have fits that I have two sergers and two Viking sewing mchines. One serger and one Viking were given to me. They all have different features and I couldn't llet any of them go.
They look so pretty, I like the way you have them displayed. Maybe I will borrow the idea.
Oh my, toys!!!
What a nice display of the machines......gives me the inspiration I need to organize SPRING CLEANUP......Great job
