It's a great quilt but I personally would use red or green. I don't think the pink is working - not to criticize - just my 2 cents worth.

Do you have any of the background green left. I know you want to clean out the trim bin but I think the green would make SSC squares really pop. Whatever you decide it is a darling quilt!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.... I have finished putting the borders on yesterday. I have folded it up and will take a break for a few days. See how things look to me at the end of the week... sometimes distance brings clarity
