I like this pattern! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I have several color ideas bouncing around in my brain for this one.

WOW I love this quilt! Thank you both for the links. I think I can pull it off between the two tutes. :) Hugs and smiles and good luck all.

If a bunch of us start making this, maybe we could start a thread for it!

Thanks for the links. Both versions look like fun.

One of my very first quilts was a jelly roll that I purchased at JoAnns. I think it was called "blueberry". Not knowing any better, I just stitched the strips together and quilted it to a soft flannel backing. I love it for snuggling up on the couch!

Oooooh... do you have a picture you could show us? I don't think I've ever seen this quilt made up!

Ohhhhhh, I love it even more in real life!!! Thanks for posting your photos.

Is it possible to make the Hidden Wells pattern with a jelly roll or do you need the width variation to make it more interesting? I want to make a quilt for my son from Benartex's Leaf Haven came upon an old thread for Hidden Wells and thought it might work. Would appreciate input from someone who has made this pattern.

Quite by accident, I found out that the "scrappy surprise" quilt I made for my great granddaughter followed the Hidden Wells pattern. I used four totally different jelly rolls to come up with my double sized quilt, but I might have done a better job of Hidden Wells if I had known there was such a pattern at the time.

I think it would be find with a jelly roll. I would do the light to dark for the variation more than the width of the strips anyways.... Here is a link for the pattern that I found when I googled the pattern. http://www.reddawn.net/quilt/hwells.htm

I bought small Jelly Rolls from this site: http://www.jellyrollfabric.net/ One set was light pink; the second was light pinks and spring greens mixed; another was different prints of lavender and the last was strips of different purples.

You might follow the tutorial link (below) to see just how easy it would be to do the Hidden Wells pattern using this method. This tutorial never mentions the Hidden Wells, but watch what she does and you will see how easy it would be to adapt to the pattern.
