yep, very easy when you break it down.

The pattern is called "Think Inside the Box" by Cathy Wierzbicki. Her instructions are very clear. You do not have to be an expert piecer by any means ;-)

I have the Hollow cube pattern, too...from a quilt show. I've been anxious to do it, so glad to see another pic! I LOVE all the tumbling block patterns and dimensional quilts. Make sure you post a pic when you are done! It seams to me a template came with my pattern(no Y seams).sally

I made my quilt with a 60 degree triangle ruler, but you're right, I think she also sells a template with the pattern.

I made a couple of one-block wonders with hollow cubes in them. Now let me see if I can find, and post, the pictures. Ok well I found one of them anyway.

Free pattern for hollow cube
Has anyone made one of these and have pictures to post? I would rather have no y seams and no paper piecing.[/QUOTE
There is a free pattern by Penny Halgren. I googled "free pattern for hollow cube quilt" & found sev. sites but Penny has not only a free pattern but a very good video which made sense of the whole thing. If you google the same thing I did, look for the site 5 or 6 down which has the name Penny in it. |

Not sure if this is what you mean, but here's one I did a few years ago. No y seams or paper piecing.
