I love your idea. I too have been waiting for Bernina to come out with a true hopping foot. Might just try your idea!

This is something I'm very interested in! I have a few extra FMQ feet for my Janome 1600P and I know I could probably modify one of them. Great idea!

BillWest, I have looked at the feet designed by Westalee & spoke to the people at Pins & Needles in Middleburg Heights, OH about purchasing through them. As of last month they weren't carrying them. I have watched several online demos for your feet & may order online. It's definitely a niche to be filled for those of us who quilt our own quilts on a DSM.

Our Ruler Foot will fit Bernina Machines - you do require a Bernina Adapter Shank #77 from your Bernina Dealer.
Our US dealer is in Oregon, Sew Steady

I just happen to have both of the feet Patsy was talking about for my 6600, now I'm off to buy rulers. I'm stoked!

My local dealer is going to order the foot + starter kit of templates for my Juki 2010Q from SewSteady. I am excited about this!!!

How do you hold the ruler in place on the quilt AND move the quilt under the foot at the same time?

I am thinking this would be VERY difficult on a DSM - especially if you are quilting a bed size quilt. I have a hard enough time just moving the quilt on my DSM when FMQ.

Congratulations on your ingenuity - necessity is the mother of invention. Good thinking.

Did I miss something? I feel as though I came into the middle of a conversation and am not quite sure what everyone is talking about. What type of quilting is this for? Please help, it all sounds really interesting.
