Jut finished piecing this baby quilt top. Notice the green border side....made with batik that I had to piece together to get it long enough. I did not give ANY thought to this not matching the shades of green when I pieced it. I just sewed two pieces together and went on my merry way. What do you think....is it awful? It sort of made me cringe. Not sure if I can make it any better if I take it apart, but can try if you think it is necessary. UGH! I was so pleased with all my quarter inch seams, and I was doing so well!
My sweet husband says the baby is not going to care and to leave it as is. But of course he loves me! 😍 |
Honestly, I would leave as is. Looks fine to me, and baby will *love* it!
|
I too would leave it...... I don't think you need it to match!

To me it blends very well. I like various shades of green together because you see them in nature all the time. I looked closely and nothing makes me cringe. I'd tell you if I thought otherwise. The quilt is darling!

In fact, the batiks look inspired by your background. Is that your own private stream? Beautiful!
|
I work with batiks a lot!! There are always variations in shades. Leave it as is. It is gorgeous

The quilt is wonderful just as it is! I would not change a thing. It is cute, interesting and has wonderful colors. You did a great job and it will be well loved!

I like how you bordered it. It is a very bright and cheery quilt.
If it REALLY bothers you -you could try flipping the ends around to see if you like that look better. Right now you have ends B and C next to each other. You could try A and D, A and C, or B and D. You can just sort of hold the fabric in those various combinations to see if any of them please you more. I did not particularly notice the seam line until you mentioned it. |
i think that once you get it quilted, it won't show that much. i'd leave it.
|
It's wonderful in every way!
