My DH is in the AF. We go to a lot of bases. I take my own power cord. This is a must. Hope your daughter has a great time. Enjoy the time off.

There's a motel in Duluth that hosts quilting retreats. They offer their big banquet room for the quilters. It's a 4 day retreat or you can go for however long you want. It's lots of fun! They have it twice a year.

Call them and ask. Conference rooms usually have an additional charge.

I have a folding table that is long and narrow that I take along. I got it at Walgreens on sale and it will hold 2 sewing machine. Lights are a must take along and power cords. Most hotels will charge to use of the conference room, but it doesn't hurt to ask. A lot depends on how booked they are. Have a great time. I know what it is to get away. I have a 46 year old son with Down's (MR) and it gets harder as they get older, so enjoy yourself.

We went on vacation a few years ago, to a place we had been before. They had changed the dining table to one of those tall tables. Anyway, I got the ironing board out, put my machine on it, set up an ironing station on the bar using a towel (they had granite installed). That was also my cutting station. So I just made do with what I could find. If you do use the ironing board for a table, be sure to move it out of the way, so it won't get knocked over. I threathened my husbands life if he bumped that machine. lol

I've found Hampton Inns to be very accomodating to guests. I'd call before booking and ask.

get an on suite tha way you have a dining table, you can take you cutting table and pad with you or cut out your pattern pieces before you go, that way you are ahead of the game to start... have them bring up a folding table so youeach have a table to sew and lay out your quilt pieces.. have it organized is the key... enjoy....

What about checking if the hotel has asoem sort of Business Suite. The Hotel I manage has a Business Suite which has an 8 ft. conference table in it. It is meant for if a guest needs a space for a small meeting or a small birthday party gathering. The table would be perfect for two people to have their sewing machines on. But. like everyone else said, be prepared, as hotel rooms do not have the superior lighting that most of us like when we are sewing. Good luck and enjoy your weekend.
