I saw something similar at Walmart when the school supplies were out last year. A cup holder for a desk with battery light attached instead of the bag. I thought it was a great space saving idea for a desk.

I haven't seen them before. I just LOVE quilting gadgets and gizzmos. lololo. I can't wait to see how you "quiltify" it. I will keep my eyes open. Thanks for the heads up.

I bought one about 10 years ago or so. It's black and clamps onto my sewing table...large enough for a big coffee mug as well. Got it from a scrapbooking shop. It's called a "Side Kick Drink Holder". Got it from Creative Memories...

I have since bought 4 more and given to quilter friends....even got one for DH for his wood shop. Nice gifts!

I've had the Side Kick from Creative Memories for years, but have only used it once. The problem is that many tables at retreats, sew-ins, etc. have a lip under the edge of the table and the clamp doesn't work on them.

AHA...this is an issue with those plastic tables for sure..so this weekend one of the ladies showed us what her DH did for her...he made a wood block that you put up to the underside of the table and then you just screw your holder down and the wood fills that gap! GREAT!

I have one and put a tin where the cup holder is and put my scissors in it and put my thread clippings in the bag. It works great!

I am going to find one as soon as ever possible! It sure would be great on my machine! Thanks for the share!
