Well, I for one can't understand why the moderators haven't closed this thread down, my goodness the language you ladies use: housework, mopping, dusting, cleaning... it's just more than my delicate sensibilities can bear.
I am just going to have to put in an ignore for this thread to protect myself from this kind of talk. (Shaking my head in stunned disbelief at how some quilters behave!!)

I have 4 dogs, 2 of them shed a lot! Especially this time of year, the golden retriever has lots of winter coat to shed, I swear it looks like there's enough fur on the floors to make a small dog. No carpets here, wood and tile floors.

My motto is " A creative mess is better than idle tidyness."

The first and best thing I learned was to shine my sink and to swish and swipe.

I don't do housework either but my ds mil once told me never apologize for a dirty house just put sympathy cards or get well cards all over the mantel. TEEE!!! HEEE!!! rofl. It works every time as noone wants to ask you about the cards

Actually did 2 bouts of 15 minute cleaning. That's more than I've done in a month!!!! Do I need to see a doctor? :-D

I bought a Featherweight machine, a $19.99 folding table that is perfect for the machine and my small rulers and when my honey says "I'll find an "oh! good" (a show I like that isn't sports) I drag out my stashed project to sew while in front of the tv with him. He cranks the sound up a bit and we both can visit during commercials and he doesn't feel like I'm ignoring him. Works perfectly and he's happy to have my company and I love his company, too so it's a win win situation for us.

LOL Quite the contrary, it comes from the fact that my yard, like my house is left largely to it's natural state. I believe one should interfere with nature as little as possible. LOL

Actually, it comes from the fact that when I was a Master Gardener with the Co-operative Extension, one of my specialties was habitat gardening.... encouraging the creation of spaces for wildlife in the increasing development of once rural areas. My yard was certified as "wild" by both the National Wildlife Federation and the state of Ohio.

Now I live in a very rural area of upstate NY, and my yard is wild without much help from me. LOL.

How to eliminate housework:
* Open a new file on your computer.
* Entitle it "Housework."
* Place it in the Recycle Bin.
* Empty the Recycle Bin.
* Your computer will ask you, "Are you sure you want to delete Housework permanently?"
* Answer "Yes" and click the left mouse button firmly.
* NO MORE HOUSEWORK!
