For me I have found that I only buy quality fabic from a store that I frequent or a company that sells high quality. I always buy "on sale" fabric and usually pay for good quality what I would have to pay for others. I have found that when I get ordinary fabric and wash it, it is very thin and frays easily. Hope this helps, have fun shopping.

Regarding Pay Pal: It is not hard to set up an account and I like using it as you don't have to go through entering your credit card numbers, etc. Just sign in and they pay the seller and bill you. Hope this helps.

I usually buy for a project, so I'm searching for color first, pattern second and price last, although I can't spend too much at a time, so often must pick several options and go with the cheapest/best one for the project. For me FQ's are impulse...yardage, not so much!

I have learned to go to the shops with quality fabric. I always check the sale shelves and buy what i like. I usually look for a print I love and build a quilt from that. I have a love of making Civil War reproduction quilts. I have made two.
I made my grandson a BQ quilt (copyrighted pattern) with musical note print as he loves music. |
I'm trying to only buy when I have a quilt in mind to make. I was in 2 quilt shops in Amarillo this week and only bought what I went for! Probably a first for me.
