How do you call your stash?
Just wondering.
Does anyone calls her/his stash any other way than stash? I call it "my seed box" |
It's simply my fabric, or my stash.
Just my stash, but right now I'm calling the top shelf(mostly scraps) my mess because I've been digging in it and it's a big mess! Holding up production too, need to get over there and straighten it up, then maybe I'd be more inclined to either finish a UFO or start yet another project!
No, I never have named anything to do with my quilting.
Treasure box, Collection
My stock pile
I call mine "The Hoard"
I have a tiny little amount of fabric, by choice, and call it "fabric"
Sometimes I call certain portions "the Museum" but the rest is mostly called "Chaos".
My fabrics, or my stash. On occasion, some fabrics are called "time to go"-as into a project, or elsewhere~;)
My stash closet mostly to my hubby. Although it is scattered into the spare room on the bed these days. After the charity sewing is finished, I will clean it all back up and put it away into a tub. You see there are things I keep separate that are donations of started items and fabric for the diabetes auctions. I have to spread them out on the bed and prioritize them to stay focused.

...the pantry.
I keep mine downstairs in my old canning cupboards..the kids and DG kids call it " the store".
My rainbow hoard.
My precious............lol for anyone who is familiar with Lord of the Rings! My husband gets a kick out of it.
My Investment! Fabric has gone way up in cost than when I bought what is in my stash.
Investments....I am now cashing them in before buying new fabrics:)

LOL. When I saw the title I thought it was a typo and you were asking "how do you CULL your stash?" I've really been trying to do that lately but I just can't seem to part with any of it. How does everybody else cull their stash when it starts to take over your sewing room?
My savings account. Because it's like having money in the bank.
My children's inheritance.

For me, it's my treasure hoard!

When I'm in a good mood I call my stash, "my babies". Not so good mood, "pile of crap"!

Resource Center (borrowed that name from someone else.)

"Stash" is the only word I have ever used.
I've named all my cars I've owned, but never thought of naming the fabric collection. I'd have to have two categories: Modern and Historical. Modern I've purchased and the Historical is material collected and passed down from my Mother, Grandmother and a few precious pieces from my Great Grandmother! Same with the sewing patterns!
How do I call my stash? Hey stash, hey stash, hey little stash. Just could not pass up this opportunity. Stash, I call it my stash. My kids call my quilting stuff my "crack." They say I am as addicted as any crack head and even refer to my magazines as "Mom's crack." Those silly kids!

best part of having the historical fabric, my Great-grandmother was 59 when I was born, so she was very into the modern fabrics (of the time). I have at least 2 or 3 yards that are really slinky, knits that are blinding brights. (late 50's, early 60's) No good for quilting, but very fun to threaten my very conservative daughter with! I also have a 3 or 4 yard cut of bright blue cotton with flocked daisy's on it. I remember having dresses out of similar fabrics, so the granddaughter may yet get a top. It's been protected from moisture and bugs, so it will be fun to work on a small piece of it. Then I save the rest for HER grandchildren! Hmmm, maybe a 3rd category, "Pass it ON"!

My stash.
My DD calls it Hoarding ....... she also keeps telling me I should do only one project at a time ..... she's going to have fits this summer when we visit and I start going to every Row By Row Experience shop in New Jersey the first two weeks we are there, before spending the next two weeks on a road trip throughout Upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. :D |
