I ask for the empty cardboard from a bolt of fabric at the fabric shop, then I wrap my strips (and binding if I am not using it right away) around it. Since it is cardboard I can pin it in the cardboard at the beginning and end. then set it up against a wall....not space taken up.

A friend came to quilt club the other day and had some fabric rolled around a foam noodle like you use in the swimming pool. You can cut it to any length with a serrated knife.

Great ideas.. This will help me not Have to waste time experimenting with trial and error methods. I use pizza boxes and jelly roll too putting a piece of duck tape on the last one.
I have a different question tho related. I often buy fabric for a particular project but forget which project it is for if I delay starting for some time. Do you photo copy the pattern or put the original in the place holding the fabric you chose? Thank you for so many choices. Do those of you who use rungs on things not have cats? My cat would have a large fabric toy if I hung my strips off of rungs. |
I have those stackable drawers
I labeled each drawer by size works well and I am able to stack two on shelf in closet |
I hang them over an old VCR rack. Works great!

Do you have a system for storing these strips that works well? Please tell me what to do so I can get my table cleared off and get to work sewing! |
