I have two small quilts which I want to hang. I have a hand appliqued piece that measures 14" across and 11" down. There is another quilt 15" across x 28" long. With what do I use to hang these?

Mine have a small sleeve on the back and I just put a dowel through it. If they are small enough you can put 2 straight pins in the wall and hang the dowel over them.

I found a great way to hang wall hangings. I sew a triangle...a square folded into a triangle into each corner so that it forms a pocket..and use a piece of wood the width of the quilt..(think paint stick size). Then use a sawtooth hanger and regular picture hanging items. Works Great!! When I make the wall hanging I sew the triangles on before I put on the binding.

Many make a type of hanging sleeve, triangles are sewn in the corners, insert a small dowel across the back and hang it up :D
This works well for smaller hangings, if you need to, another little sleeve can be added in the center. http://www.embtreasures.com/articles...eTriangles.htm |
Try one of those plastic - clear pants hangers, someone here brought this subject up, It really works well if you have a wreath hanger if it is going on your door. Otherwise try using those clear push pins if hanging it on the wall, these do not leave big holes in your projects or your walls. Hope this help's !

For really small ones I usually sew those plastic rings (I think from the drapery section??) on the back and use a couple of small nails to hang them.

You can run a dowel rod through your sleeve, then put a slit in the end of the rod. Then put the end of a ribbon on each end and hang up at a triangle on a nail.

When I make them from now on I'm going to put the triangle in. I read that here a while back. In fact I'm about to bind a Christmas wall hanging. I'll have to remember to do this.

I used a nice curtain rod. we love it. I used no sew iron on adhesive and iron on the sleeve...than just slid the curtain rod on. I am planning to make other to change during the year. that was my first quilt that I made.
