On the Viking Sapphire they give to a 1/4" seam...and it is 1/4" perfectly. BUT you have to choose quilting stitches, then pressed the number for the 1/4" stitch.

Wow, what they don't come up with! I would love to have that stitch!

Doesn't your machine have a memory button? I have a Janome Horizon, when I set up a particular stitch and turn the machine off, that same stitch remains when I turn the machine on again. I can also store stitch combinations on memory.

Worked in an IT dept. PEBCAK meant problem exists between chair and keyboard - Could it be PEBCAM problem exists between chair and machine?

Counted my seam dippers recently when I reorganized my studio. No one needs 13 rippers! Ugh, no excuse for not having one anywhere I sit,? Ha!

I also learned the hard way that when you turn off your computerized sewing machine, everything goes back to the default settings. So when I'm using a different stitch/setting and don't get finished, I put a post-it note on the machine with the special settings so I won't forget to set things back when I start sewing the next time. It works.

I get highly suspicious of anything that can do whatever it wants without telling me what it is doing - - or have to be told every move to make to ensure correct outcome. I think I suffer from control issues or something!
On the other hand, your recent experience suggests I may just have more wisdom than I ever considered myself to have! LOL <wave>

Last month my Secret Pal sent me a seam ripper with a big smiley face on it! Makes the job a little less yucky.
