to make a rail fence baby quilt? Apparently stunningly hard if you are working with your treasure of a new machine
Cut the strips, pieced some last night and work on some this AM. OK? SO? On the Viking Sapphire they give to a 1/4" seam...and it is 1/4" perfectly. BUT you have to choose quilting stitches, then pressed the number for the 1/4" stitch. GUESS WHAT, did that last night. But this morning full of ideas, just sat and sewed. DRATS!!!!!!! things were not the right size! Took me so long to releaize what I hadn't done. I did sit with my very so nasty beasty seamripper for a long time! Coffee helped! Julie |
How frustrating. I hate my seam ripper. But I still seem to spend a lot of time with it. LOL
Ugh! I spend alot of time with mine too!
Julie, you are not alone! Your seam ripper can be your best friend, sometimes you spend the most time with her. . . .
Last nite I had to rip out some paper piecing that I was doing, now that sucks!! I cut the last strip centimeters too narrow, and I don't have any more of that fabric, so now I will have to be so very careful when I piece it all together. |
My seam ripper is my best friend.
I love my seam rippers. I have several that keep each other company when I'm doing things right. When I'm not, we have a party ;-)
Aren't new machines wonderful? My Bernina has many bells and whistles, the only problem is...operator error! There is always a learning curve and a support group is great, if you have one for your machine.
I have a Viking Sapphire too. I leave myself notes right on the machine to remind me to reset it. :)
My seam rippers have special names. My best one is called "The Reverser" LOL. Then I have "Rippit" and Ooopsy. WE all need them and gotta have them. :)
The names I scream at the seam rippers I have are not printable on anice site like this! Because usually a foul mood has taken over my body and mind. :hunf:
But nothing works like a SHARP NEW ripper! Julie |
