UFO is my middle name right now with this sprained wrist!

loves_2_quilt 07-07-2011 03:06 AM

I have a twin quilt ready to trim and bind, a twin in the maching being quiltied, a king top that needs to be quilted, and a queen rail fence that the strips are ready to be cut into squares. That makes a total of 4 WIPs.

Baby quilt will be bound next week, twin will be quilted on this week. Queen and king are next in line.

QuiltnNan 07-07-2011 03:09 AM

9 or 10, but my frame's been put away almost 3 years :)

Anael 07-07-2011 03:14 AM

I don't want to count as I started quilting about a year ago ....
There's Dear Jane (197 blocks to go), Sylvia's Bridal sampler (85 blocks to go), two BOM's, three on the designwall (all started), three more in a closet and about 5 or 6 tops waiting to be quilted.

Shelbie 07-07-2011 03:21 AM

I have never counted all of them but when you have two full Rubbermaid totes (largest size) of completed tops, two smaller bins of blocks, numerous (more than 50)shoe boxes of partially completed tops and a few more pressed tops on hangars, you do have quite a few. All of this is in spite of my guild's challenge these last two years to finish as many PIGS as you can. My goal was to do one a month which I've done. I've given a whole bunch away and have a pile of completed quilts finished and ready to go. I also have two King sized quilts for my own bed! When will I finish my PIGS? I have no idea but I'll keep on quilting.

SharBear 07-07-2011 03:22 AM

I have one Radiant Star that is going to be for my soon to be remodeled room.

Last night I finished a QT and today I'll get the backing so I can finish that one by the weekend.

I'll call it 2.

BUT in all fairness I have a box of swap blocks that I didn't finish and have to finish and just make a top out of my own blocks; and there are probaby 10 PIGS kitted and waiting for me. I'm on a self imposed Fabric Diet!

gollytwo 07-07-2011 03:24 AM

I stopped counting at 34

Juliebelle 07-07-2011 03:35 AM

I have three quilts in the works. But no time to work on them! Making very little progress...

I think the prettiest one will be the stack-and-whack using this fabric:

DeeBooper 07-07-2011 04:20 AM

I think it is 7 or 8...no....wait......I think 10 or 12......

kateyb 07-07-2011 04:29 AM

When I re-organized my sewing room in January I had 117. I am down to 105. Six of those should be done in the next 10 days. I have also started and completed 10 smaller projects in the meantime.

michelehuston 07-07-2011 04:32 AM

Oh, well, how depressing! I have 2 in sewing stages, and about 20 or so to be quilted. I prefer to hand quilt so it takes a long time. I have started sending a few out to my friend who la's. I wanted to have many more done by now, but nope. :?

More than I care to count :-))

Butterfli19 07-07-2011 05:25 AM

Really, you have more than one? Wow, I would be waaaay stressed out over that!

I have one quilt project and one cross stitch project going at the same time. Any more than that and anxiety sets in. I have to finish what I start even if halfway through I don't like it because usually when it's finished it looks wonderful!

the casual quilter 07-07-2011 05:51 AM

More than I have a life expectancy to finish

grammysharon 07-07-2011 06:42 AM

3 in progress, with the fabric and patterns for 5 more. Who says we are addicted?? :-P :-P :-P

Mariposa 07-07-2011 06:50 AM

Don't want to count!! All in different stages too~ :)

MellieKQuilter 07-07-2011 07:11 AM

Only two!! (well three if you count the one off to the LA's today). One I am piecing and one BOM I need to get crackin on...

Now projects I have fabric for?? I cant even count those! :D

If we count "in the planning stages" how could anyone ever say they only have one project going at once?

I'm always thinking about/planning the next one--gleaning possibilities all the time. Doesn't everyone? I mean, I have a list of quilts I want to do...(usually patterns from the internet, so there aren't patterns that are purchased...)

I'll check my quilt tops soon...just finished another one yesterday.

Tartan 07-07-2011 08:39 AM

I deliberately don't keep track. Instead I keep a "done" list by my machine each year. Much more encouraging. I slip in a U.F.O. between projects to finish them up, if I feel like it.

wannaquilt1 07-07-2011 08:51 AM

I'm weird... I only work on one at a time. I'm that way with knitting too. If I have more then 1 thing going it stresses me out :(

Kristin in ME 07-07-2011 08:54 AM

3 (one of which I'll be done tracing the quilting pattern on today- can't wait to start quilting it!!), plus I just bought fabric for the next one...

I have to add- one of those is a watercolor wallhanging top that I made as a teenager, 15 years ago- I don't really know what to do with it so who knows if it will ever get finished!! One is the top that I'm getting ready to quilt. And another is one that is partway through being quilted, but I hate it so I've been trying to avoid it. In fact, I once gave it away- but then it got given back! It was for my daughter and she loves it, so I suppose I should finish it... Oh, yeah, and I have a fourth one that is on again, off again in the works, besides the one that I just bought the fabric for. Oh, and another one that I have fabric for but haven't started- 30's reproduction, I love it, just have to figure out which kid to make it for! Hmm, I guess I have more in the works than I realized...my poor husband just doesn't understand why I don't *finish* more of them! lol

Good news is that I've almost got one ready to be bound, just a little more echo quilting tomarrow and I'll be done. This one has been in process for over a year. Oh no I got one more that's under the table that's sandwiched and partially quilted. I've been trying to use up my stash and I get ideas quicker than I can put them together.

I think my head hurts now.

dltaylor 07-07-2011 09:13 AM

I currently have about 6 or 7...I loose count

usewgirl 07-07-2011 12:11 PM

So do I need to count just this century, or must I go back to the last century.

Quiltaddict 07-07-2011 12:16 PM

More than I want to admit.

sarahrachel 07-07-2011 12:42 PM

7 and more in my head!!

Agree - unfinished = hanging over my head; can't take it. Much too goal oriented for my own good!

NDQuilts 07-07-2011 01:34 PM

I count in January and try every year to work down the count. The first half of the year I was able to keep focus. It has been downhill from there but I am ok with that (until Jan comes around again).

The real answer. I have 5 kitted, over 8 in process, 5 waiting for quilting, 1 in the frame.

ckcowl 07-07-2011 02:16 PM

gosh- feels like hundreds!
probably about 12-15 actually being worked on - another dozen not forgotten but set aside for various reasons...and then there are the ones i've pretty much given up on ever finishing...
i don't know what my deal is this year- but i've been (trying) to get the binding stitched on a quilt that isn't even twin sized- and i'm about 1/2 way around it---it's been 2 weeks! i carry it back and forth with me to work- and wind up working on it for 5-10 minutes....
i have decided no matter what comes up---i'm not taking on another dog-gone project until i have at least 6 of the current ones out the door!... now to keep myself to that....

pab58 07-07-2011 02:42 PM

Sometimes I think I have too many, and there are other times when I think I don't have enough!!!

RkayD 07-07-2011 02:43 PM

I really don't know right now..and I'm almost afraid to go look. =)

azam 07-07-2011 03:49 PM

Oh my gosh, too many to count. Should get busy and get off the computer.

Dotha 07-07-2011 03:53 PM

Can't count that high. JK (or maybe not on the JK part)
