I have...actually I really only work on Christmas projects! I can't help myself, when all the Christmas fabrics come out in July, I stock up so I will have something to do all year around! Then more Christmas fabrics come out as we get closer in the season. Am I the only one?

franie 07-24-2010 05:38 PM

Have not started yet.

cherylynne 07-24-2010 05:39 PM

I've thought about Christmas projects, but no work yet.

QuiltingGrannie 07-24-2010 05:40 PM

My granddaughter's quilt top is done. Just need to quilt and bind it. Grandson's quilt....have the pattern and some of the fabric.
Just bought some fabric to make a gift not sure who for yet...
Other than that not even!

dreamboat 07-24-2010 05:42 PM

I started in January on some wall hangings for my kids. I need to make 6 and I only have 2 finished 2 in process and 2 not started. I might getted it done. If I don't they will get it the next christmas.

bejay28 07-24-2010 05:43 PM

Wow....maybe something is wrong with me....I just love working with Christmas fabrics....they are so festive, I just couldn't work on anything else. Maybe in my "other" life I was an ELF!!!!

isnthatodd 07-24-2010 05:43 PM

I am making aprons for everyone female this year from a really cool-looking pattern. So far I have the pattern!

I am also going to make the table runners for 3 of my children that I cut out last year.

I found the cutest panel for 3 fabric boxes I am making for my granddaughters, and will put earrings in 2 of them, as they will both have pierced ears by then. That leaves 1 granddaughter and 2 grandsons. And my husband, of course.

beachlady 07-24-2010 05:50 PM

Does just finishing my granddaughter's quilt for last Christmas count?

Have ideas, but nothing to show for it yet!

xray_a 07-24-2010 05:54 PM

I just got my pattern in the mail today for my tree skirt. I've already finished one of the center panels. I am also planning on making a lap quilt for my future MIL, hopefully I will be able to use fabric from my stash. My goal is to cut it down quite a bit. I have a quilt top stored away that I'm going to have quilted for my boyfriend's god daughter. My nephew also wants a blanket made out of Minkie so I will have to find the right colors for him. I think that's it in terms of sewn/quilted items. Also have a short list of knitted projects in the works for Christmas as well.

bejay28 07-24-2010 06:12 PM

Wow! jetnica, those are very nice! Great job! Nice to see I am not the only one!

RevPam 07-24-2010 06:18 PM

I enrolled in a Christmas Club at my LQS. We meet once a month for a surprise Christmas project, learning (or re-learning) different techniques each month. I love it!

annette1952 07-24-2010 06:18 PM

I have alot of big ideas but haven't started yet! I should start thinking a little more seriously about it soon. It will be here before you know it!

bejay28 07-24-2010 06:22 PM

Well, is anyone buying Christmas fabrics.. don't all the LQS have Christmas in July?

cjomomma 07-24-2010 06:22 PM

Nope I haven't started yet but from here on out I will be working on Christmas gifts.

Have bought a little fabric. This past year all 4 kids have received at least 1 table runner. This year I'm trying for extra long potholders for kids & grandkids, as they are showing an interest in cooking. Not out of Christ fabric. I'm hoping to make 3 sewing boxes for 3 of the girls. Ideas are starting to gel and supplies starting to be found, as much from stashes as possible.

la,la,la,la...can't hear you......

one fa and I am dead ;-)

brenda21 07-24-2010 07:00 PM

Jessica,
What's inside of the coaster squares?

Bottle Blonde 07-24-2010 07:00 PM

Traditional Christmas fabrics just don't rock my world. I have already made a Christmas gift quilt for each of my GD's, just didn't use Christmas themed fabrics. I haven't planned any more quilted gifts other than those 2. I have already given almost everyone in my family a lap quilt. Now I am working on the long list of quilts that I want to do for myself and DH....so unless someone asks for a quilt --- I'm already done with my Christmas sewing!

Just a square of whatever left over batting I could dig up.

Here's a link to the pattern:

I think I can say I did as I plan on making gift quilts from the blocks I'll be getting back in the Batik swap, the Black/White and Bright Swap and the Hot Air Balloon swap. I have my blocks done for all of them so that should count as having worked on Christmas gifts. At least that's my take on all the work I've put into these swap blocks.

My Mom is going to get the snowman swap block quilts. (And snowman placemats and napkins)

Mom always gets a little extra...

I have started deciding what I am going to make for my sisters and mother. Haven't started to sew yet. Still in the idea phase.

jeanau 07-24-2010 07:11 PM

bejay those panels are very pretty. I bought 3 charm packs of Moda's Makin Friends to make a lap quilt for my son's family. I picked a pattern that was more winter rather than just Christmas, so they would be able to use it longer in their family room. Just planning a simple patchwork design.

dyer804 07-24-2010 07:14 PM

I've crocheted a scarf and hat for my great niece and have started on a scarf for her mom as well. I am in the process of making a throw for my nephew's family. I have the blocks done and just need to do the sashing, borders, and backing. I did a cross stitch picture for my other nephew and his wife. I still have a few more planned.

CarrieAnne 07-24-2010 07:17 PM

Does thinking about it count????????? I really do love Christmas fabric though, so bright and cheery!

I have guild presents to exchange and it's a challenge to find something new and fun to make.

C.Cal Quilt Girl 07-24-2010 10:42 PM

Please no... don't make me do it.....!!!! :)

pieces 07-25-2010 02:38 AM

I've pieced 1 lap quilt so far. Took it to my longarm quilter last week. Wanted to be sure to have it in time for Xmas.
Have been thinking about making some xmas stockings.
I have some Debbie Mumm machine embroidery designs that has some great Santa's and other Xmas designs.
I guess thats why the stores are having Xmas in July sales.
A hint for us to get started.

Thank you.... that was from the Christmas in July at the LQS!

Really it don't matter to me....if I need a blanket any time of the year, I will grap me a Christmas/Winter themed blanket/quilt! I love the whole season, everything about it!

I think they make me feel cooler!
