Was at Creative Stitches show on Sat. and of course bought more fabric, notions and kits.
As I was putting my treasures away it got me to wondering how many kits I had; not too many I found after counting; 18 in total. Everything from queen size quilt, wall hangings, table runners, and bags. I started buying kits while I was working so that when I retire fully time, and don't have as much income to spend I would have my stash to go to. So how many kits do you have?? or am I the only one kit stashing?? |
Four.
I have six but I could narrow it down to five. Two of them are identical for a twin bed and I want to make one king size. Don't ask how long any of them have been shelved. I have no idea.
3 for me :D:D:D
1 for me. I like to use my imagine for projects. That way I can get rid of some of my stash at the same time.
I don't have any kits!
I also am a quilt kit stasher....I have 2 right now. They came in real handy when I was on medical leave and could not get to the store. I think now I will resume my collection!!! I also bought some of the clear shoeboxes and when I find a pattern I like I start accumulating the supplies in the box for that rainy day when I need something to work on!
zero for me very rarely do i like the colors they choose for the pattern.
none
and no fabric bought in accordance to a pattern either |
I have just one, which I inherited. I'm thinking of selling it on this forum, since I've had it for two years and have barely looked at it! Pretty, but just not me.
Just 1 for me. I never bought kits until this summer. I bought one and had fun with it.
So I bought 1 more just in case I want something fast and w/o much thought. Glad you didn't ask about fabric or other stuff lol |
2 for me but one I bought on sale from Connecting Threads just for the fabric. They have so much fabric in their kits it was cheaper than buying the fabric individually. Not sure what I'll do with it but it was beautiful fabric at a great price--can't pass that up.

None because I like to pick my own colors.
None I never seem to like whats in them But then again I never follow a pattern either
I bought four this morning at a wonderful quilt shop in Albuquerque, NM, and I have one that bought on a trip to Kansas.
had the same thought...buy the kits for retirement, or when we get snowed in and cant get to thestore or had no$ to buy online. Now retired, done that snowed in stuff , got a lot of stash and 12 kits.

Just bought my 24th today on this board. I am terrible at picking colors, so kits are just up my alley. I call them my "retirement fund".
No kits here, like to do that part of it myself, and extra just goes into the stash :)
Started one this weekend (which is driving me up the wall) and one to go. They're for my DGD's. I can't finish cutting out the first one until I get some more fabric that I cut wrong. I hope I'm making all my mistakes on the first one! Tabi may never get hers!
I have never bought a kit as I have always assumed that they are an expensive way to buy fabric. I also never buy fat quarters as I find them more expensive than yardage too. If I like a fabric, I always buy at least one metre of it and maybe two or three!
I have never used kits as I have way to much fabric to use up and I like to pick my own colors and patterns.
Kits are a terrific way to add to my stash. I buy them on sale and use the fabrics in other quilts. I seldom buy a kit to make what the kit is for. Right now I have about 32, but I've opened many and added the fabric to my folded fabric. I buy when the kit 60% - 75% off. I don't care what the kit pattern is, I just want the fabric.
I have at least 5. And I saw a table runner kit on line I want to get. Bad, bad, bad.
I like to chose my own colors. I do have one kit and it is for a pillow case...waiting for the DGD to come over for an afternoon.
Only 3 purchased-that-way kits. Don't want to count how many projects I have with fabrics reserved for each specifically. But, hey, only 3 kits. I'm awesome!
I have no kits.
I also bought them for retirement. But I love the new stuff too. I don't want to begin to count. I started to do a list once---- oh my gosh, i quit. I have started sewing on some tho. I still like them and when I don't I will use the fabric somehwere else.

No kits, just lots of fabric!
I have about 4 or 5. Don't dare count though.
I have a couple of kits on hand. when I buy one I open it up as soon as I get home to make sure I got everything needed. Once I opened one up about a year later an discovered one fabric was way smaller than stated and needed. Have you ever tried to get more of a fabric that has been discontinied!

None-I don't like to buy kits.
None....I like to pick out the fabric and patterns myself so kits have never appealed to me.
Three that I got on sale. I like to pick my own colors and prints.
Eight that I'll admit to. Whoops, make that nine. I just received the twelfth and final block kit for the watercolor cats quilt from Whims Watercolor. Looks like my retirement is going to be pretty busy, too!
I just have two, one I really loved the fabric but not the pattern provided, so I'm doing my own thing with it. The other is a Baltimore Album that I've been meaning to so someday.
I have 16 and counting. I am currently doing the Civil War Tribute BOM and I have finished 2 blocks. That would count as 17. There are all sizes of tops but nothing smaller than a throws. My husband wanted to put them in storage and I almost lost it. He has no idea how much fabric costs especially when you get it from your LQS. Needless to say, it is still in the house...LOL I have stopped buying more than 1 a year. I enjoy getting the BOM kits and I pick one a year to buy.
I've never bought a kit and don't think I ever will. I prefer the creative process of putting things together myself.
