Much to my DH's dismay... Six machines.

Kenmore 385 series that I bought new in 1992-ish
Singer 221 (ebay - 2005)
Singer 9022 (inherited from my Granny when she passed in December)
Singer Model 15 Treadle head w/Tiffany Decals (inherited from my Great Grandmother)
Singer 99 Handcrank (I wonder if the previous owner EVER used her? - Craigslist purchase last month)
Singer 185 (just bought on ebay - should be here this week!)

I have mostly used my FW for piecing and for taking to quilting group.
The Kenmore I've used more than the others because it has all the decorative stitches I used for QAYG.

Granny's 9022 needs to go to see Dr. Singer and I need to figure how she works.
Great Grandmother's treadle head I'm planning to convert to a hand crank to teach DD4 how to sew.
The Singer 99 hand crank I just bought last month and have yet to give her a whirl.
The 185 is in the hands of FedEx at the moment and should arrive Tuesday, hopefully!

I will be looking next to get the zigzagger attachment and as many cams for the decorative stitches so that I can start using the older machines in my QAYG.

I use one. My DH uses the other one. We both really need new ones but I guess as long as they sew, you can't really get rid of them, can you?

I have three. My Bernina, about 15 yrs. old, is my "main" machine. A Janome 760 is used for retreats and guild sew-ins. The first machine I ever bought, a Kenmore, is in our condo in FL. Don't love it, but it works for straight seams and the occasional repair.

I have a Kenmore my parents gave me for Christmas more than 30 years ago. It is my workhorse. I have a Babylock serger. I have a mini Janome that needs parts, before I can use it. I have an industrial Singer that is more for upholstery type sewing. I have 4 vintage Singers. They are all in working order and I use all but one of them. The one vintage Singer that I do not use is soon to be gifted to my 13 year old niece once she lets me know that she is interested in sewing on her own. I am very interested and have been searching for a FW. One day I hope to own a long arm also. I have also been eyeing the Janome's. A good friend of mine has several Janome's and she loves them. She is able to do so much more with her newer Janome machines than I am able to do with my vintage Singer ones. I would be willing to trade in 2-3 of the Singers to get a Janome or 2. ;)

You people have made my day. I feel so quilty for have 4 no make that 5 machines. 3 brothers, 4000D, 6000 I use both and a small brother that I bought at walmart and use to take to classes , 1 phaff 1200 that currenlty is giving me tension problems, and a serger that I need to learn how to use. I do use all of them except for the serger.

The heaviest machine I have my nephew brought it too me. I helped hubby put it on top of a cabinet machine. It says Brother Zig Zag on it. Why do they have zig zag on it as part of the name. Is anyone familiar with a machine like this. IT is so so heavy. It would be one you would have to leave in place somewhere.
