I have a vintage Kenmore, a Featherweight 221, a Kenmore 190001 sewing/embriodery machine, a Janome 11000, a Janome 4800 and a Viking Designer II. I sew the most with the Viking and the 11000. Not sure why I have all these machines but have got them so I love them all.

Me too! But have never done hand sewing, would love to learn, though...one simple Janome.

I can't pass up a deal when one comes along. Every machine I have I got a great deal on. I have a basic Janome I love for classes, Pfaff 7570 love for the dual feed, Singer (a 66 - was free but needs a bobbin case, would like to get it running because it runs so smoothly), Featherweight, engine smokes so need to have it looked at, and old perfect condition Elna Supermatic, Pfaff 1027 don't use so will sell, 2 Viking Sergers...which I love, but will sell one when I decide which one I like better, and a Bernina which is my main machine.
I guess if I see a sewing machine I want to give it a home, then if I don't use it I pass it along. |
I have 4. Need to learn how to use the embroidery machine. It was given to me and have no idea how to get started.

The heaviest machine I have my nephew brought it too me. I helped hubby put it on top of a cabinet machine. It says Brother Zig Zag on it. Why do they have zig zag on it as part of the name. Is anyone familiar with a machine like this. IT is so so heavy. It would be one you would have to leave in place somewhere.

Let me tell you girls I now feel much better! This afternoon I went and bought myself a BabyLock "Grace" is her name. This is my 5th machine - I didn't want to let anyone know I bought another. You've made life sew much simpler. Lynda Bless you my friends!

I use all of mine. I have two embroidery/sewing machines, cover stitch, serger, blindhemmer, two sewing, and an embellishing machine. Don't know what I would do if I had to get rid of one.

Sorry, but I have only 2 sewing machines; a Bernina Sport which I bought in 1985 and a Domestic in a cabinet
I am curious, is a Domestic (1952) of any value? At the sewing shop I was told there is no demand for a machine like that but he would go over it and donate it to a Women's shelter. It sews very well but I use the Bernina because of the different stitches |
I have a cheap Singer that I bought a year or two before learning to quilt. Bought a Pfaff for my quilting addiction and kept the Singer for back-up if Pfaff in for service. Just bought a FW a few months ago and a 301 two weeks later, both on Ebay. Plan to use those, but haven't been sewing much recently. Just yesterday I got the New Home treadle that belonged to my grandmother. Will have it cleaned and serviced and hope to be able to sew on it. Not sure how hard it will be to track down info on the NH and find accessories. No more machines planned anytime soon.
