naaaaaaaah,,,,not so....

I don't have enough fingers and toes to count them all.
Let's see - 3 or 4 pairs of kid scissiors for snipping ends (cheap, sharp enough), one pinking, one Gingher fabric shears, one cheap paper shears (for paper piecing), two that were gifted to me. So at least 8 in my sewing room(s).
I have 12 pairs of scissors for sewing all sizes... never really yhought about it ........lol
I have one and it's maybe 15 years old. I want to get a new one but don't know what to get.
No Way!!! Get the light weight shears that gingher has for about $20.00 or $10 if you have a 50% off coupon at Joann's
Let's see, I have about 20 pairs of Gingher embroidery scissors, 2 pairs of Gingher dressmaker shears, 3 pairs of Dovos, and a beautiful pair of Maison Sajou embroidery scissors I got to put in a needlebook/embroidery case once I finished embroidering it.
I am a scissor whore. I have to have one in each embroidery project I in the works. I'm bad, I know. |
3 then a pair for paper,
You are all scissor junkies.....I don't know how many I have and I probably couldn't find them all if I tried. There seems to be one pair in each UFO stack.....I don't know why....

13 fabric cutting, 6 machine embroidrey, 10 paper cutting and plus I know there's more of each so I say about 40
I'm not even sure I know how many I have...I'd have to go count them. I have A LOT! Scissors just for fabric, scissors I cut thread with, scissors I use to cut paper, kitchen scissors, craft scissors, applique scissors, pinking shears, scrapbooking scissors and, of course, my rotary cutters...all sizes - tiny, small, medium and large!
It doesn't matter if I have 10 or 5 I can never find them when I need them! I have to wear them around my neck like my glasses when I sew. LOL

I have one large pair of gingher and a LOT of little scissors...I use them for quilting and scrapping and beading so there's lots of different ones and then I collect vintage little ones....
Well, I inherited my Mom's scissors. She had some that were her mother's. I don't use them, so they don't really count. I really only use about 4. My two favorites are Kai dressmakers and embroidery scissors. I would grab them in a fire! Just sayin...
I have 2 pairs of the Gingher shears and 3 of the little 4" scissors. My DD sews so some of them are hers. She still lives with me.
I buy more every time they're on sale.

So funny, I guess I was about the same way. When I was about 3 or 4, a HS student that I loved dearly played the piano at our Church. One Sunday, she came with a new short hair cut. My hair was really long, and mother always washed and curled it on long rollers every Sat.. Well that Sunday after Church, because Jan had a new hair cut I decided I needed one too. While mother was preparing lunch, I proceeded to cut my hair, only had one side cut when she caught me. What a mess. Bad part about it, my dad was lying on the bed watching me, (I was in their bedroom,) and didn't stop me. Mother asked him why he didn't stop me this is what he told her, "Well I was going to see if she would really do it" needless to say mother was mad at both of us. |
I think I only have 8 pairs. Only three large ones. The rest small or embroidery scissors.

I have so many pair of scissors that I would be all day finding and counting them.. I've bought quite a few pair, (that's QUITE a few pair) plus I've been given some, and I've inherited many pair from my Mother, both of my grandmothers, and now a bunch more from my recently deceased MIL... I keep small ones in a shoe box, large ones in a basket, and then I have them in drawers, and in the cutting table, in work baskets.. all over the place!

LOL, I told my daughter just for the fun of it when I die and they are cleaning out my stuff (poor kids) put ALL my scissors in a box. Then they will certainly know I went over the edge long before I died. I do tend to pick up scissors, fabric and quilt magazines and books if I find them at Goodwill or a tag sale. Hmmmm, hoarder???? Maybe in that area. Oh well have fun all and enjoy all your STUFF!
