I'm struggling with paper piecing. Have a UFO. I had to lay it aside to make some quick baby quilts.

I have spent the last few years PPing two Angel quilts for my DGD's. Using the book 24 Angel Quilt Blocks by Linda Causee. I enlarged the blocks somewhat and still it had some very small and difficult areas to piece. Angel blocks are done but trying to figure how to set them up and w/what so I can get them out of my hair. PP can be easy but this one was a real challenge. Lighting is bad and still working on adding faces but here are a few of the blocks and the book cover.

I'm a newbie to quilting and just found out about PP and I really want to learn it! anyone have an easy beginner idea?

Love all the pieced angels I havent seen that book before
Nice job ConnieF |
I love the accuracy but if I can make a block by sizing it after sewing it together I usually go that way. The patterns that really need to be pp are the detailed ones. I kind of got turned off by all the intersecting seams. Am I missing a technique?

A good many years ago I did a little bit of PP under the tender guidance of my DSIL. I remember it being not to difficult once I got the hang of it, and enjoyed doing it. However, that was before I got into quilting and I'm not sure I'd be able to do it again on my own. I'd most likely need some guidance.

I think your block is beautiful.
Is this pattern available to purchase? I am addicted to paper piecing. Am doing the pattern Thistle Pods by Judy Niemeyer right now. Catlady57 |
