I mainly paper piece and really enjoy it! When I did belong to my local guild I was the only one that mainly paper pieced. I don't have any local friends that paper piece, but I'm in the process of changing that ;-)

akgranny 08-03-2010 07:54 PM

yummmmm! i like paper piecing! have just done the one, but have a few patterns stacked up that i like.

shequilts 08-03-2010 07:55 PM

I love PP. I first got hooked because I'm such a stickler for perfect points. PPing reduced my ripping time. I actually love all methods of piecing and am currently in my "applique phase"

granny-jean 08-03-2010 07:58 PM

Just started a pineapple block quick. I love paper piecing and at least my points line up and seams to match up better with paper piecing.

Kelly - I love to paper piece. Such precision!

What part of PA are you from? I am near Williamsport, in North Central PA

Mariposa 08-03-2010 08:01 PM

I love paper piecing!!!:)

jazzy519 08-03-2010 08:01 PM

I love it.

KellyPA 08-03-2010 08:03 PM

I am in South Central PA in Lancaster!

So glad to see other paper piecers!

What are your favorite designers?

nursie76 08-03-2010 08:05 PM

Oh Wow! Lancaster! If I lived there I would probably never have any money....but LOTS of fabric ans patterns.

KellyPA 08-03-2010 08:06 PM

I already don't have any money, so it makes it easy not to buy fabric and patterns LOL.

KellyPA 08-03-2010 08:11 PM

Have you ever been to Lancaster?

rubia 08-03-2010 08:13 PM

I've been considering paper piecing but I'm in the "research and learn" phase right now. Any tips on tutorials would be great! I plan on scouring the site for info.

kwiltkrazy 08-03-2010 08:15 PM

I love paper piecing, and have made a few designs myself, but they were nothing spectacular.

KellyPA 08-03-2010 08:18 PM

rubia - I found a pattern I wanted to do and just did it until I got it right! It really is simple once you get the hang of it. I'm not aware of any tutorials, but I'm sure they exist somewhere!

Yes. Several times. Last time was for the Quilt Show in March. It was the first quilt store I have been too. Loved it! Am hoping to go to the one in Philly in September.

wvdek 08-03-2010 08:18 PM

Me!

franie 08-03-2010 08:19 PM

Like it and don't do enough of it.

wvdek 08-03-2010 08:19 PM

Me! My June and July Doll Quilts were both PP'ed.

lab fairy 08-03-2010 08:22 PM

I decided this is my method of choice so far. I get better accuracy on my points and seams. Less need for "Jack" the ripper which probably makes him sad, but I'm happy. I look less homicidal without a blade in my hand. :-)

kristen0112 08-03-2010 08:27 PM

love paper piecing.

Candace 08-03-2010 08:32 PM

My avatar and many others are PP.

lab fairy 08-03-2010 09:26 PM

Your avatar is awesome. I want one.

candlequilter 08-03-2010 11:24 PM

I enjoy paper piecing but I have to be in the right mood to do it. For me it takes me a little longer to do especially when you figure in the paper removal stage. But I love the looks when it is done.

MegsAnn 08-03-2010 11:50 PM

::raises hand::

Me! Me! I paper piece.

Just learned how in a class last month, LOL. But I think I'm hooked. It won't replace regular piecing or applique, but I'm already planning lots and lots of PP-ing projects.

Crlyn 08-04-2010 02:22 AM

Love to paper piece. I don't do enough either!

mic-pa 08-04-2010 02:53 AM

Another Pa. gal who loves PP. I have benn to Lancaster many times. How lucky you are to live there

I love PP. I just finished this block for my Center in a private International Round Robin. Mailed it to Brazil yesterday. Trying to send for the first time---hope it works.
Happy piecing, Kutnso

raptureready 08-04-2010 03:35 AM

I don't do it regularly but I'm not adverse to it. I took a workshop from Carol Doak at Threads of Time in Danville, Il. and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm planning to do at least one Bella Bella quilt.

mygirl66 08-04-2010 03:45 AM

I love to pp. I taught it for a few years in the 90's. I am a sucker for perfect points, and the blocks turn out so nice every time! And depending on what size you use, you can do alot of em with scraps! I have a candy corn pattern that is 1/2" ! Isnt that insane!

sidmona 08-04-2010 03:51 AM

me! me! I love PPing! Have done 3 large PPd quilts so far and am working on a 4th for nephew's wedding quilt.

pocoellie 08-04-2010 04:05 AM

I love paper piecing.

Moon Holiday 08-04-2010 04:14 AM

I love paper piecing, too.

Midwestmary 08-04-2010 04:17 AM

Paper piecing to me is like doing a jig saw puzzle - which I love. I've done several small projects from MH designs. Love the fact that seams and points line up and the finished product looks wonderful :) ...also a great way to use up those scraps that seem to crawl out of the woodwork!!

QuiltswithConvicts 08-04-2010 04:18 AM

Count me in! My Avatar is PP. However, right now I am deep into finishing my hand-pieced Dear Jane quilt that I started 13 years ago. I'm in SE New Mexico.

nursie76 08-04-2010 04:29 AM

Kutnso your RR center block is spectacular! Love the colors and the pattern!

Annaquilts 08-04-2010 04:34 AM

I do but very seldom. It might change as I have some vintage machines now and they are supposed to be great for paperpiecing.

wvdek 08-04-2010 04:41 AM

Kutnso I love your block center. Very nice.

Lori S 08-04-2010 05:20 AM

I was reluctant at first ...but Iam a HUGE addict now. You can get some amazing results.

JAGSD 08-04-2010 05:35 AM

I LOVE paperpiecing too!!
I am so addicted, there's so many I want to do them all.

Go to Carol Doaks site, or quilterscache.com she also has a page that has tutorials.
