I've gotten a bit out of control I think.....Right now I am working on the Tonga Back To Nature BOM, Stitcher's Garden BOM and The Cotton Club BOM, plus a few other smaller projects.... I'm keeping up so far, except for the Tonga (the Y-Seams in this quilt made me crazy :) ) How many projects do you have going?

carolaug 10-23-2011 04:06 AM

1 fall lapquilt ready to FMQ, a King Size ready to Quilt, a Charm Tote pieces cut and strips are sewn, need to sew them together. and a project in the closet...all sample blocks that will someday be put together.

bellydancer_cks 10-23-2011 04:10 AM

3--a purse/tote, a Christmas runner, and a Christmas Snap Happy. I had to get a spool of clear thread before I made the runner so the back quilting will look nice. I have some now, so I'll probably work on it today.

plainpat 10-23-2011 04:11 AM

A tube quilt to put together, a Batik quilt needing to be cut out & various projects needing to be finished or even more in my mind needing to be started.

Cattyqwltr 10-23-2011 04:11 AM

Too many to count and lots more in the planning stage. :D

luvstitches 10-23-2011 04:14 AM

One at a time and only one! My brain will not allow more than one project however I have many "kits" waiting for me.
They are fabric that I put together along with the pattern and backing and ready to go.

BMP 10-23-2011 04:23 AM

I use 2 gallon zip lock bags to bag up my fabric, pattern and thread for each project ...I have 7 bags in my tote waiting !!! a few are small wallhangings , but a few are queen size quilts. I think I have enough to last me awhile.

QuiltnNan 10-23-2011 04:30 AM

1 baby quilt and 2 full quilts to put on the frame and a miniquilt fmq on the dsm. i've had the fabric laid out for the folded dahlia, but just can't seem to get to it.

MissM 10-23-2011 04:32 AM

I have not even counted lately...there is a reason for that.

DeeBooper 10-23-2011 04:45 AM

I can't even count them along with all my longarm quilting too.

sueisallaboutquilts 10-23-2011 04:52 AM

A couple of days ago I looked at all my UFO's and found way too many! 3 of them are just bindings- how lazy can I get???
Maybe I'll do a binding marathon- it would free up that space that's holding all of them.

How many? ... not going there! Though I am on a mission to get the # minimized. Last year and again this, our LQS has a UFO/PhD challenge. We take in our PhD to register it, and pay a $2 fee, then return with it completed, and are awarded a # ballots, determined on size (one for wall hanging, and upwards). It runs from Oct thru end of May ... so a lot of projects can be completed, and a good pool of $$ amassed. Of course, the LQS wins .... we need extras to finish all those things, don'tw e? :)

I see several projects as a necessity ... sometimes I want to sew, and dependent on my mood, what I will work on. As you mentioned, there are times you know those Y-seams are not for you, and yet you are ready to sew, something! Go for it!!!!

I look at it this way ...
Variety is the Spice of Life
... and this ensures some of that spice in my life!!! :)

I am going to "claim" 5 that I am "activily" working on! There a a couple more though that I have started and maybe only made a block or two. I have found that actually that is the best way to do it---then when I find it, I don't have to wonder what in the world I was thinking about

I wish I could do like our friend and only do one at a time though---but my brain doesn't work that way. I bore easily---and there is so much I want to do! Wish I didn't have to work and had someone to do my housecleaning and cooking---I would be set!

I often think of it as Quilter's ADD!!! :)
(and oh so true pour moi!!)

mollymct 10-23-2011 05:50 AM

3 quilting projects! Almost have my "big" (for me) quilt done. I have the borders on, just need mitering at the corners. I can then send it to be quilted! Yay!

Then, finish snipping the latest rag quilt. This was my fastest one yet! I'm glad it's on the small side and that rag quilts turn out so cute because I think they are kind of boring (to sew)!

Then, borders on a Christmas quilt for someone next year. I'm going to try to handquilt that one! Eek! I'm excited for this first, though.

In the midst of these I have a few hats I'd like to knit, but I'm knocking out the first two projects before I let myself touch yarn!

gollytwo 10-23-2011 05:55 AM

I am currently working on 5 - they are in various stages.
I have 37+ UFOs in Rubbermaids (I stopped counting at 37)
I have about 15 what I call Collection Bundles - fabrics I've put together that await my finding a pattern that suits them.
And I am 75 - so I regard the whole situation as hopeless.

mamaw 10-23-2011 06:26 AM

Too many!! Makes me feel overwhelmed.

Gramie bj 10-23-2011 06:43 AM

I have 2 UFO list, one is a must do list, they all have due dates, Christmas, birthday, showers, ect. Then there is the I started it, got bored or lazy, or put it away cause Im cleaning or company comming and forgot it list, many on the second list migrate to my first list as life happens. LOL
at present I have 5 on my first list and 3 (that I know of) on the second one. Then there is the list of projects that I have ready to start, Have pattern fabric thread ect.(6) or maybe only patern and part of the fabric (11) If you have not cut any fabric does that count as a UFO? Maybe not because you could always use that fabric in another project.

quiltsillysandi 10-23-2011 07:50 AM

To everyone - Thanks for your responses.....I am not alone in this madness.....lolol....I actually really enjoy sewing on different projects, working on one for a little while, then switching to another..However, with that said, I really do not need to start anymore projects.....None..Zilch...Nada...No More...I will resist all temptation.......Well, maybe, just one more...:)

Melinda in Tulsa 10-23-2011 09:23 AM

Way, way too many. I'm trying to finish them one at a time, but unfortunately a new project always gets in the way.

AliKat 10-23-2011 10:03 AM

This is probably one of the only benefits of our poor economy. I now have to finish all those UFO's if I want to keep active.

OK, I will do a few new projects ... but, mostly will try to use what I have and do some stash busting.

GGinMcKinney 10-23-2011 10:08 AM

I was only going to do one at a time and only buy fabric for current project. Then I found quilting board, yahoo groups, LQS, and I went crazy. Too many to list in progress. I will claim the 3 sitting out in plain view:
table runner-binding almost completed
table runner - needs quilting and binding
queen size quilt - working on free motion quilting-then had to take machine to the shop It is ok as we leave tomorrow for a one week campout while the machine is in the shop.
Cathedral window by hand, loom knitting socks, prayer shawl, baby hats.......

margoee 10-23-2011 10:10 AM

No lie....probably at least 30 UFO projects!!!

Chicca 10-23-2011 10:33 AM

I prefer to do one project at a time, but somehow...I currently have two paper pieced projects, one free motion machine embroidery trapunto project and about 8 small projects from bibs to potholders. I really should be in my sewing room instead of reading and posting replies. LOL.

janiesews 10-24-2011 03:32 AM

too many to count.

primitivequilter 10-24-2011 03:45 AM

Way too many to count. I am totally out of control and can't seem to rein myself in.

Your little dog is so cute!!!

Jackie Spencer 10-24-2011 03:49 AM

To many to count, and thats the ones I remember. All in different stages, but I will eventually finish them.

QuiltingCrazie 10-24-2011 03:50 AM

I'm hand quilting 3, 4 tops need to go to a quilter and only one that needs to be pieced, just cant figure out how big and how I want it pieced, ever think that maybe you would have done something different with fabric after you start on project?

Val in IN 10-24-2011 03:52 AM

I have a LOT in different stages of construction/completion.
I have promised myself not to start another thing until I complete all of these. So far, so good. We'll see if it lasts. I also promised myself that I would NEVER, EVER, make another quilt under pressure. Takes all the fun and enjoyment out of it for me.

quiltaroni 10-24-2011 04:09 AM

The truthful answer is far too many!!!!

Sunnie 10-24-2011 04:14 AM

So glad to see that I am in good company.

2 Quilts for Kids in progress, 3 more in the planning stage (fabric in ziplocks), 1 Shop Hop quilt in progress, 1 ugly UFO that may look better in a few months. 3 sets of fabric lined up for quilts.

I think I better get busy.

I fall into this catagory - and just cut a charity top to sew

LindaJ 10-24-2011 04:40 AM

Two quilts which I can't see having done by Christmas plus 5 more pair of kids knitted gloves a few hats and working on a shawl for a wedding. Then we always have to think of making dinner and cleaning.( notice I said think?)

Mariposa 10-24-2011 04:42 AM

I quit counting!!

Just Fabric 10-24-2011 04:48 AM

Your joking right? An actual number? Do you see my pic, that is only some of my fabric, I have several quilts started and plenty ideas stirring, I have a shop on Etsy, so I have to keep up with that, I have 4 kids all grown, but they always need something made, then I also pick a few families before Christmas and make lap quilts for each child, an sign from Santa. I do not even want to start counting, I am not sure I could even count that high!

Ditto, besides I'm afraid to count! I get distracted like a child in a candy store, I want to do it all! :?

schaffers 10-24-2011 05:04 AM

I hate to admit it but I have 12 quilting projects together , I want to knit a scarf for our guild's auction next month and I am doing embroidery for my Grandson's band! I don't have to wonder what to do!

mar32428 10-24-2011 05:10 AM

So many that what I don't finish here is going with me thru the pearly gates.

MS quilter 10-24-2011 05:15 AM

I can't count that high.

Lucy90 10-24-2011 05:34 AM

I have 3 that are ready to quilt. I have 3 that I am working on. I have 3 to hand quilt. I guess my numbers are 3's. I have many ready to cut but won't until some of the above are done!!
