Oh! I am not at all that productive loll
I only have 1 double size bed quilt completed which I call my learning quilt. I have a lap size one almost finish handquilting it, I have one large one waiting to be sandwiched. All my quilt are two-sided quilts so I guess it makes 2 quilts in one for each of them I only handquilt them. I did 4 placemats, 1 potholder and 3 or 4 grocery bags I quilt mainly in the winter and not every day. |
4 complete tops - Two 100% done on my regular sewing machine (king+twin), one sent to the LA (hope it arrives soon!)and 1 UFO - only UFO because it's for me and everyone keeps butting in ahead LOL.

I am retired and started quilting in 2007. I keep track of my quilts on MyQuiltPlace.com by posting pictures of them there. I have made over one hundred. I machine sew and quilt them on my DSM. Most of them become gifts. Birthdays and Christmas and some for baby showers. I highly recommend this website for displaying and keeping track of what you have accomplished. I post them there, but this is my place to admire and learn from others.

I have been quilting for almost 2 years...this exercise has made me realize that I have made 12 quilts-4 baby,2 queen,2 full, 2 twin, 2 lap. Most, I have been completing them myself by Stitching in the Ditch, or actually using some of those fancy machine stiches for decoration. A couple are waiting for me to hone my FMQ skills. I have worked my way up, buying and selling used machines, to a Janome 7700 (which I love!) which is helping with my FMQ'n

How many quilts have you made?
I also sewed several scrappy quilt tops which I need to finish. Last time I counted I had 10 of those. |

My guess is probably around 300 quilts in the last 35 years. Mostly machine pieced and appliqued and most of the last 150 or so are machine quilted by me on my long arm.

I just LOVE this thread...I have read every post and its so nice getting to know each other a little :)
I didn't add my story to my post, but I have wanted to quilt ever since I was about 11 and doing small projects on my grandma's old Singer. My mom made my clothes and my barbie's clothes when I was young and I was always intrigued by the beautiful things she made. Life kind of took its own path and I never really got started except for gathering and cutting squares, which later got lost in the shuffle. The only thing I've ever finished clothing wise was pajama pants and I've taught my 2 stepdaughters how to do that as well. When I medically retired in 2008, a friend remembered hearing me talk about wanting to learn to quilt and my mom & I took a class with her. Needless to say, my mom & I are both hooked for life! My friend has a young son, so she doesn't have much time for quilting, but does make some killer halloween costumes : ) No matter how many quilts I make, there are even more that I want to make and more people I want to gift them to...can't wait to start the next one, a graduation present for the youngest's college graduation in May...better get started !!!! |
