I have a large room in our basement that was my son's bedroom. When he left home, we remodeled it for my long-arm and the business aspect of that.
We also thought if we used the room for another purpose, he wouldn't feel very comfortable moving back home after college (if he didn't find a job in his field) and having a less space. |
I have a 10x13 bedroom all to myself! and it is full!!!

I took the bed out of ofne of the bedrooms and use that now. We are currently updating (getting rid of the junk) in our basement and I will be moving in there when that is finished. I figure it will be around fall this year.

I have a sewing room. We live in an old farm house. The previous owner converted the attic area into 1 BIG room with a bathroom. After our daughters grew up and moved into their own homes, I took over their old bedroom - this attic room. Not sure of the measurements but it is crammed pack full and I'm trying to reorganize and declutter. I'm getting interested in scrapbooking and would like to set up an area dedicated to that along with my sewing and quilting. I also have my Christmas village set up along 1 wall on a permanent basis as it is too much work to take it down and set it up each year. Plus I enjoy looking at it - turning the lights on - watching the little "campfire" flickering light. I've thought about making the display smaller but my granddaughter thinks I should make it bigger. :-) She likes to rearrange and make suggestions about it and always buys me a new piece for it each Christmas. Maybe someday it will be in her house. Like most attic areas, I have the slanted ceilings to deal with and can't store items too high up on the walls. It is a great convenience to be able to to drag out whatever I want, work on it and leave it sitting until it is finished; and hardly anyone sees it but me as most people don't have any interest in climbing the stairs to my room.

Yes I have a sewing room that is just for me! When my son moves out, I will also take over his room too. I love it.

When we built our handicapped accessible, house I took one of the bedrooms for my sewing room. One wall is closet that has shelves in it. I store my stash and everything else there.

Happy Treadler WOW! What an awesome room and your machines are beautiful. I want to come over and "play" but we don't live close enough. You are very blessed.

I have a sewing room and it was planned when we built our home. I have an ironing board that is built into the wall and we redesigned the closet . My stuff has grown and the room hasn't! I find myself bringing my featherweight to the kitchen table and my cutting table is in the great room-but it is just me and the cat now and she doesn't mind. Never enough storage room.

I have a small corner room in our basement. My husband lined the walls with countertops and have ample storage for bins of fabric under them. I also have two large bookcases for my fabrics and a separate table for my sewing machines. I am in the process of emptying it so that I can have black and white tile put on the floor. Can't wait to have it done and sort through all of my fabric scraps.
