After tripping three times coming into the "spare" bedroom where I had my sewing machine/room, my husband suggested I move into the master bedroom. Three days of "Are you sure?" and I moved into the master that is 15 x 17. Of course, I've outgrown it. But it's wonderful.

Hey Janie, you're welcome to take a road trip anytime! I don't have anyone to play with. My family thinks I'm nuts. I guess the only person who understands a quilter is another quilter. I find myself just wandering in there throughout my day. In my last house I had the loft, and things were just piled high on top of each other, and there really wasn't much room to work. It was really stressful, and not really a fun place to be. This room was really was worth the wait. Started as hubby's office space, but he found he couldn't keep it tidy so he moved down to the basement. Yay for me - yes, I truly am a blessed girl!

I do have lots of visitors that also craft in there both my children and friends. there is also a tv and I have an adult son that uses it as his study room but i do not mind because I love the company. that is one thing from going to sitting smack in the center of the mobile home in the middle of 10 plus kids and then suddenly sitting in a giantic space by yourself. I am actually thinking about setting up a sewing area in my living room/kitchen area down stairs for when no one else is in the studio.

Nice pictures - thanks for sharing!

I have a whole room in the basement and half a bedroom upstairs. I store & cut fabric & machine quilt downstairs. My serger and 3 sewing machines are there. I do most (patchwork) machine sewing, pressing/ironing, and all machine embroidery upstairs, where I also store all thread and many other sewing supplies. I hand quilt both up and downstairs; I keep my hand quilting supplies in a large basket, so it is very portable.

I turned our all season sun room into my sewing room. Lots of light but no wall space. I bought small and large plastic 3 drawer storage containers (on wheels) and have a small bookcase for storage space, plus a counter with cabinets underneath along the wall that butts up to the house. Works for me. :))

My sewing room is about this size also. After the kids left, I took one bedroom for my sewing room, hubby took the other for a reloading room. Works very well for us and neither invades the others 'space' lol

I have a beautiful sewing room. It used to be a sun room but my husband had it made over into a sewing room. It has windows on two sides so I have plenty of natural light and a wonderful view of the forest. It is not big enough for a long-arm, but maybe that will come when I retire.
