When I send mine to Heather (hperttula123) I have sent them to her on a Friday and she has them back in the mail the next week. That is my biggest fear - having them out a long time.

I hand quilt all my work, but love to see and admire the work done by everyone else on the board, whether it be hand or machine sewn.

I quilt with a "check". :-D

Wendy, at Eagle Mountain Quilter's does a superlative job!

I have to admit I do quilt small quilts--stitch in the ditch, echo quilting. Free Motion Quilting is an ART and I have nothing but respect for those of you who have mastered it. Taking a beginning FMQ class convinced me that it would take a lot of practice before "I could get it right".

I quilt mine, now that I have a LA. When I did send them out, it was about a 6 mo waiting period.

I quilt my own as I really cannot afford to send them out I have a Bernina with a stitch regulator and that really helps I do the large ones in sections when I finish I feel like I have really accomplished something and then they truly are my quilts

Hand quilting all my quilts. There is something so special when I see a quilt hand quilted and you can tell a machine quilted one a mile away.

I've always done my own on my reg. sewing machine.

I send mine out. Usually, turn around time is 4 weeks, or so. It depends on the LA quilter. The longest waiting list I've encountered was 2 yrs. out.

hand quilt small tops or pieces where the surface pattern texture is important to me. I also hand quilt if I plan on embellishing w/ beads, etc.
send out functional tops that will be used as bed quilts or where the pattern/color is so dense hand quilting won't show up.
I have been using a local person, but the turn-around time keeps extending out and is now 2-3 months.
I'm looking for other options. I want to support people in the community and really like her, but there are times I simply need a quicker return.

I have a LQS quilt larger ones, but I like to quilt the smaller ones. I've just been doing FMQ but have gotten up the nerve to try some "designs". So most of mine I do myself. Just got a wedding present back and need to put the binding.
