I am feeling a little overwhelmed with work and life right now and find that even if I put a few stitches in something, I feel so much better. How much time do you spend quilting in a day?
|
1-8 hrs ( however, i am retired)
|
1-8 I am retired also.

Not sure how many hours that I spend with quilting in a day, but I will say......I quilt whenever I can. I have an applique quilt going at all times. When I'm drinking my coffee in the mornings, watching the Today show, I'm stitching.

At the machine 1/2-1 hr at I can't sit long at it. But hand piece or cutting or pinning 2-3 hrs at night! If I don't have time tho even a few minutes feels good!

With me it's closer to 1-8 hours a WEEK. Sometimes I'll go a few weeks without doing anything at all in my sewing room.
I am: a business owner, separate full time job, wife, home owner, gardener (1/2 acre of beds + greenhouse), breeder/exhibitor of Champion dogs, writer (regular columnist), and lecturer (4-6 x per year). I also have a hard time sitting still - high energy type (which is the reason my ironing board is on the opposite end of the room from my sewing machine!). I have to be busy. 8 hours of sewing in the same week would be a LOT for me. If I have a deadline though, I'll put in whatever hours it takes to finish it on time. |
not enough!
|
Not nearly enough, I hoped I'd get more time when my daughter started school but my son (4) has been a handful because he misses his playmate. I'm hoping we find our rhythm soon.

Also retired 3-6 hrs depending on season and weather...
Nice weather 3 hrs 9am-noon Ugly weather 6 hrs 9am-3pm 5 days a wk, take wkends off |
I am retired, I always have plans when I get up in the am, I will do some after breakfast, but, I am here on the board instead. I do a little bit here and there. Usually finish a 10 " strip log cabin block in 2 to 3 hours off and on
