My day: Up at 8 -8:30 am. 9am -12pm read Quilting Board and do responces. Go to gym, work out for at least 1 1/2 hrs. Run errands (if needed) while out. Home and in sewing room again looking at this board. Try to con by DH into fixing dinner so I can sew (he wants to know what I've been doing all day that I can't make dinner lol). If con succeeds I start sewing, if not then I've got to wait until about 7pm to get back into sewing room. Oh wait there's some responces to the responces I made earlier - gotta read em! Now I'm exhausted and just ready for some boobtube time - can't miss House, Glee, American Idol, Bones, Criminal Minds, Murphy's Law, Fringe, etc, etc, etc. WAIT A MINUTE WHO ASKED THIS CRAZY QUESTION AND CAUSED ME TO EVALUATE MY DAY :hunf: ???

I am home by one everyday and straight to my sewing room when I can. I used to hate it when my husband closes at his work. which is only one night a week. but now I love it..lol. i spend all eve. in there sewing
Definitely not enough!! I do it when I can, and try to work it around other family things. Would be nice to have a several hour block of time--oh what I could accomplish! :)
No special time or day, probably 4-5 hours a week.
i only sew during the week if i'm not too tired from work and the weekends i sew as much as i like...i don't feel guilty because it's constructive, life is short, and they bring joy to the people i give them to and myself...sew on!!!
some days-all day. Other days after I get my stuff done in the rest of the house, maybe only an hour or two. If i have a project that needs to be done right away, everything else slides until it's finished. I try to sew some every day.
My husband goes to bed at about 8:00pm every night and I try to quilt for about 3 hours then. Sometimes during the day, too, if nothing else has come up.
Some days a lot and other days not at all. I have to be in a sewing mood or I make too many mistakes.
For me I usually am most productive after my daughter goes to bed (8pm) and just after she catches the bus (7am) for an hour or so. I work swing shift but on my days off I am usually always in the sewing room.
Not nearly enough. Evenings mostly after dinner is done, dishes are washed and the stupid phone has quit ringing. Then, if I get involved, I may quilt until Midnight.
I spend to much time here, not enough time to quilt.
I spend a lot of time with my sewing machines, but I am not always quilting. I am the family mender and end up with all sorts of projects.
I am retired and if I am at home, I am most probably sitting at the sewing machine. It is truly my recreation.
its supposed to be my full time job but i would say i spend 4-5 hours devoted to it 5 days a week.
i have my family to care for and i have myself to care for then in between i quilt. |

I spend the time that I have left when I am done doing what I have to do! Generally 2 hours or so per day sometimes more! Having said that, Mondays and Fridays I try to quilt for most of the day, while I am doing my laundry! TreeFrog |
Who or what makes you feel guilty when you are doing something creative, productive and therapeutic?

I also work full time and do not have enough time to spend in my quilting room! I thought I was retired from teaching about 6 years ago but both my husband and I (he was also a teacher) returned to full time work as teacher's aides in special education. We just couldn't stay away from being with the kids. But, now that I've begun quilting I find I have little time to quilt. I go in spurts and spend as much time as possible in evenings and on weekends when we are not busy. We also have been raising our granddaughter for the past 6 years and,as many of you know, parenting takes time. Just need to say we love our granddaughter(age 12 now) and I love whatever time I have quilting!
I sew every day.
Either hand stitch, machine or am working with my long arm Gammill Statler. |
Most days a couple of hours as I am retired(finally!) :-D
more time than I should -- my house is cluttered and dusty and my yard needs mowing and the flowerbeds mulching -- an hour or two is spent on QB and several hours working on current projects, a d9p and Balt.Alb., and thinking about a tshirt quilt I have promised to make
not as much as i want to !!!
Not nearly enough, have a few projects and nothing completed. I rip out as much as I sew and then I have to sit and think before I sew again. I work full time, so weekends usually have more time, but with spring around the corner there will be yard work, oh well!!
Just a few minutes in the evenings. Now that it is warm I spend
so much time outside. |

I'm retired, but some days I don't sew at all, and some days I spend three or four hours in the sewing room in several sessions.
Not enough for me either. Can't wait until I retire in June this year. First on my list is to get everything organized and then sew, sew, sew.
Usually on weekends only, but because I am a school principal and have 10-12 hour days as a minimum, I dont get much time during the week.
I dream about quilting. I see quilts everywhere (see my avatar). I doodle with a giant sewing machine (longarm business), design quilts and patterns, and teach classes to both youth and adults. I pretty much live in my sewing room. I make charity quilts for soldiers and for humanitarian efforts to send around the world. I quilt with my daughters for their trousseaus, and am a member of six different guilds. I oversee the home arts room (including the quilt show) of my county fair, and serve on the board of the Home Machine Quilting Show in Salt Lake City. I've judged quilts at county and state fairs, and have entered quilts in fairs and shows around the region with a collection of ribbons to show for it. I write about quilting (http://quiltscapesquilting.blogspot.com), I read about quilting in books, magazines and online, and I decorate with quilts around my house. I guess you could say I am passionate about quilting. Oh, and I love to cook and sing. And then I dream about quilting some more. So, how much time? FULL time.

Not as much time as I want to. I wish I got off early afternonn, I would have lots of stuff marked off my list. Right now I have a growing list of projects and not enough time to do them.
