I agree with the others - you are an artist. Your quilts are amazing and the price should reflect that. I would gladly dig deep and pay a minimum of $1200 for that quilt in queen size. I also agree that it is probably worth more than that.

First off I must say it is absolutely beautiful!! Makes me want to do some more experimenting with designing... You did a piece of art! I personally would say it the 500-600 range... eventhough it may very well be worth more too... Fabic and time add up and I usually don't keep great track of how much I spend on fabric as I pulling from stock and restocking. Then time is hard to figure.. Quilting cost is the easiest to come up with price.. It does make me want to do one similar!:)

First of all - do you WANT to do this? Secondly - you stated that money is no object with your customer. Thirdly - you do extremely beautiful work and are an artist. The price must be in the $1,000 or higher range. Do NOT sell yourself short and do NOT be embarassed to quote that price to your customer - remember, she/he asked for this quilt!

If you think there isn't any money problem, I would charge $1,500 plus Fabric. This is a beautiful Quilt.
Good Luck-

Plus the time to make the top itself and then about 30 hours of quilting. So if we say 80 hours, the price that I was thinking of asking comes out to only about $3.84 per hour in labor - I just don't want to sell myself short.

Eddie, you have heard of minimum wage, have you not?????

That is an absolutely beautiful quilt and if she wants one identical (almost) and is willing to pay, go for it. Your time is worth more than $3.84 and hour.

Eddie, I would have to charge 1500 to 2000 for all that work or I wouldn't do it. I'm not sure if that would even include the shams. Look at the price of Amish quilts! Your work is worth whatever you charge. Please don't undercharge.

Based on the effort I put into a much more straightforward appliqued wall hanging I made for a friend, I have to agree with the $1,200 and up quotes.

While most of us are feeling a budget crunch, there are also some people doing as well as, or better, than ever and who would think nothing of paying well over $1,000 for an art piece such as this.

What did you charge her for the other 2 smaller quilts? I would say to take that price and multiply it times however any times would equal the size of the queen. She is probably expecting a compariable price.

Eddie! Your work is really outstanding. Shams are very expensive to buy. I think $1500.00 and don't look back or question your pricing.
