I make lots of mistakes. That's how the good original ideas develop. I very seldom make a quilt that is exactly to a pattern. I'm a scrappy kind of girl. But I do admit, I don't rip out anything unless it's truly a bad sew job.

Isn't making mistakes just a part of a quilter's life? So glad I'm not alone! I will think more kindly about myself the next time I goof up.

Some days more often than others.

Mistakes? Do you mean like cutting fabric and after it's all cut, discovering there isn't enough? Or maybe using the fabric set aside for binding, for something else? Or do you mean stuff like sewing the right side of one block, to the wrong side of another . . . and ripping it out, only to sew it wrong again? Or are you referring to stuff like looking away, for just a SECOND, while sewing? I'd rather not answer the question . . . .

Hilarious!! This is all me!! I thought I had enough fabric for the quilt I'm working on. It's supposed to be a jelly roll quilt. Once I had it together it wasn't very big. So I started cutting the pieces of jelly roll to scrap together some border. Low and behold! I found a whole stack of fabric that I had partially cut for the quilt that I had missed!

I've done that, with blocks! :D

I've also neglected to count, as I cut strips. Had lots and lots, left over. :D

How many mistakes in how sort a period of time determines when it's time to take a break!!!!

Sometimes i think I make my quilts twice - once the wrong way and once the right way.

I think that sums my answer up nicely.

I was feeling like a big dummy when I spent 3 hours on one block the other night. Funny thing was, it was the third of its kind--the first 2 were easy. Same pattern, fabric, everything . Then I went to my quilting class and the teacher was telling us about a quilt she's doing for the shop. SHE said (I kid you not), "I spent THREE HOURS on one block last night and it wasn't even the first one like it. I had done like six already and couldn't get that next block right to save my life!"

I have learned to keep telling myself, "I'm only human. This is just part of the learning curve." Let's just say that I am a VERY curvy girl. LOL!

I don't make mistakes...........I have happy accidents.:)

Besides nothing is to be perfect, otherwise to do so is disrespectful to the Great Spirit.
