I vote for the first one also.

michelleoc 04-20-2013 11:04 AM

I like the top picture the best. I love your fabrics!

JudeWill 04-20-2013 12:42 PM

Definitely the first one for me. Very pretty.

JoanneS 04-20-2013 12:58 PM

I don't usually like 'matchy matchy', but I do for this block. Otherwise, I think you lose the idea of it. Having said that, I'm not sure I would include the darkest blocks - unless you're planning to add more blocks to your quilt. They grab the eye and stop it from moving around the quilt.

wildyard 04-20-2013 02:36 PM

I like the first one, but I really like the last one of the random x's.

gzuslivz 04-20-2013 02:38 PM

I like the first one the best, with the darker ones spaced out more. I love your color selection. Was this from one fabric line?

trolleystation 04-20-2013 04:22 PM

First Picture. That is a tried and true pattern. The other sets seems to take my eye in all directions, and I lose the beauty of your prints.

kitsykeel 04-20-2013 05:42 PM

I think the first picture is more pleasing to the eye. Nice piecing.

HillCountryGal 04-20-2013 06:56 PM

1st one gets my vote.

mooshie 04-20-2013 07:03 PM

Well, I'm going with the 1st one, and have started putting together the x's and o's. :) I'll be sure to post pics when it's done. Thanks again for the opinions.

I am with mom-6 . What I do is make a layout on the design wall or large surface and walk away for a while...could be an hour or whatever. Then I can see what works and does not work. Looking through the camera viewer does well as a method to see if the layout works. Or use a digital camera; it's been a real help for me several times.

I like the matchy pattern. You can see the x's & o's better. The second one looks more like a scrappy quilt to me. And although I love scrappy, I prefer the 1st.

QM 04-21-2013 04:15 AM

IMHO, the first works best.

SewFarBehind 04-21-2013 04:30 AM

I like the second one. It reminds me of lattice in a flower garden.

twinkie 04-21-2013 05:05 AM

A very interesting pattern. I like them all.

margie77072 04-21-2013 07:34 AM

I like # 1 best. I don't do random.....LOL...I need control!

klgls 04-21-2013 08:02 AM

I like the top one best - love the colors you used!! It's going to be awesome no matter how you do it.

sewbizgirl 04-21-2013 08:57 AM

Like you, I prefer either the first or the last. I guess it depends on whether you want to emphasize the "hugs and kisses" aspect (like for a baby girl's quilt) or just a random, more modern patterning. Both look great!

QUILTNMO 04-21-2013 09:36 AM

i like the first one!

MissBarbQuilts 04-21-2013 10:58 AM

LOVE your colors!

nstitches4u 04-21-2013 04:53 PM

All are pretty, but the first one really catches my eye.

Irene Frohreich 04-21-2013 05:01 PM

The first one is really neat and easy on the eyes.

sulyle 04-21-2013 05:43 PM

I personally like the pops of the darker gray. Makes it more interesting. I like #1 best.

mardanmom 04-21-2013 06:14 PM

I like the first one ... I like the distinctive "X" and "O" ... easier on the eyes!

Andrea 04-22-2013 09:33 AM

I like the matchy X's. It's fun that putting them together makes the O's. Looks very clever (and it IS clever).

Buckeye Rose 04-22-2013 10:01 AM

I like the second arrangement....more random, less planned look.....and then I like the matched X's next.....I guess it depends what kind of look you want.....I am no help am I? LOL ;)

BMP 04-22-2013 11:23 AM

I like number 2 also. The darker gray is too concentrated in the first layout
I just finished doing this quilt and used 28 different browns I layed mine out random and just loved the look.

minstrel 04-23-2013 04:06 AM

I like the first one best. For me, it's the one that makes the X's and O's show up most clearly.

gabeway 04-23-2013 04:56 AM

Number three for me.
