Definitely the first one for me. Very pretty.

I don't usually like 'matchy matchy', but I do for this block. Otherwise, I think you lose the idea of it. Having said that, I'm not sure I would include the darkest blocks - unless you're planning to add more blocks to your quilt. They grab the eye and stop it from moving around the quilt.

I like the first one, but I really like the last one of the random x's.

I like the first one the best, with the darker ones spaced out more. I love your color selection. Was this from one fabric line?

First Picture. That is a tried and true pattern. The other sets seems to take my eye in all directions, and I lose the beauty of your prints.

I think the first picture is more pleasing to the eye. Nice piecing.

Well, I'm going with the 1st one, and have started putting together the x's and o's. :) I'll be sure to post pics when it's done. Thanks again for the opinions.

I am with mom-6 :thumbup:. What I do is make a layout on the design wall or large surface and walk away for a while...could be an hour or whatever. Then I can see what works and does not work. Looking through the camera viewer does well as a method to see if the layout works. Or use a digital camera; it's been a real help for me several times.

I like the matchy pattern. You can see the x's & o's better. The second one looks more like a scrappy quilt to me. And although I love scrappy, I prefer the 1st.

IMHO, the first works best.

I like the second one. It reminds me of lattice in a flower garden.

Like you, I prefer either the first or the last. I guess it depends on whether you want to emphasize the "hugs and kisses" aspect (like for a baby girl's quilt) or just a random, more modern patterning. Both look great!

All are pretty, but the first one really catches my eye.

The first one is really neat and easy on the eyes.

I personally like the pops of the darker gray. Makes it more interesting. I like #1 best.

I like the matchy X's. It's fun that putting them together makes the O's. Looks very clever (and it IS clever).

I like the second arrangement....more random, less planned look.....and then I like the matched X's next.....I guess it depends what kind of look you want.....I am no help am I? LOL ;)

I like number 2 also. The darker gray is too concentrated in the first layout
I just finished doing this quilt and used 28 different browns I layed mine out random and just loved the look.

I like the first one best. For me, it's the one that makes the X's and O's show up most clearly.

Number three for me.
