Me too, I like the darker binding.

i love the top. i would go with a darker blue fabric than the backing. I think that a darker binding with a lighter backing is just fine. it looks great as a way to say im done. at least to me.

Ninety-nine times out of a hundred the best choice is dark for a binding. It makes a frame for the quilt. Go for the dark. froggyintexas

This is a Judy Martin log cabin quilt called Summer Lake Log Cabin and is from her book titled "Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilt Book". It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. The book has many great pattern ideas.

The Dark would be great but if you are interested in a two color or 2 sided binding you can google Two sided binding and there is a tutorial on it. Basically you use a 1" strip for the front binding and a 2" strip for the back. Sew together length wise - fold and half - press or not, apply the bind with the 1" strip to the front of the quilt and when you turn it to the back fold it on the sewing line and stitch. The problem I have is getting the 2 different colors to line up when finishing the end. The last one I did, I finished with a straight lien rather than a diagonal. Hope this makes sense. You can pm me if you would like. I tried in on a short practice piece to get the idea. Have used it on several quilts.

This. I normally bind dark, regardless, since the edges get the most handling anyway. Absolutely LOVE your quilt! Can't wait to see it finished!
