This is so good to hear, especially if I can talk to a lady. I have gotten hard of hearing, and men's deep voice are a real pain for me to understand!!! Love all you people!!!

Clean out your bobbin area and tention area.
One time on mine there was a 1 inch piece of thread wrapped around in the tention area. I finally got a flashligh out so I could really see, and just barely saw what I thought was lint, but it was a piece of thread that was causing all the trouble. When mine acts up, I rethread BOTH the bobbin and tention at the same time and change the needle I know it frustrating. I feel for you. Syl |
If you order the Towa, Go to superios site and look at the vido first. It's something ..

I ordered Bobbin Tension and Top Tension gagets from Superior Threads for my Nolting Mid Arm quilting machine because I had tension problems. I had to do my own figuring for tension but it solved most of my problems. If I remember right, the numbers for the HQ 16 are already on the sheet of info. They did cost a bit but I am not sorry I bought them. Go to www.superiorthreads.com and look for the Tension gagets. Hope it helps you.

I don't have an HQ 16 but I know with my Bailey If a thread gets caught in the bobbin area, the machine won't sew right. You could take the bobbin area apart and check for loose threads.

I also had tension problems with my HQ 16 in the beginning. I purchased the Towa bobbin tension gauge and recently the top tension one from Superior threads.......a bit spendy but worth their weight in gold. Good luck, the HQ really is a great machine!

recheck for lint in the bobbin area and bobbin case.

Call HQ and tell them what's going on. Usually they can walk me through problems and they are always so nice and ready to help.

I'm glad you got it working. You might want to bookmark this thread to refer back to incase it happens again.

Eastermarie...I'll do that. As I've found out on my quilts, it WILL happen again...just hope not as bad as this was!!! Still can't figure out what caused it to happen, when it was going along just fine....then I had to refill a bobbin and Wham!! There was no lint, threads, etc....stopping up anything. Makes you wonder. I've had this to happen before when I had to refil a bobbin and start again. Any ideas, anyone? If so, I'd like to know....I'll try to avoid that, too. :)
