Husqvarna Platinum 16 question
Good morning,
My wife and have tried out the Husq. sit down quilting machine and are very impressed. Our question is this. Can the foot that comes on the unit be used for ruler work? Thank you. |
Is it open or closed toe? A ruler foot us closed toe. You need to make sure it’s tall enough. Can you ask the dealer about a ruler foot?

I am sure there are additional feet. also Google Husqavarna Viking and ask.

A ruler foot needs to be higher than the foot your showed so the ruler doesn't slip between the foot and the needle. Took a look at the manual for your machine and didn't see mention of a ruler foot. Contact Husqvarna directly if your dealer is no help.

I have the platinum 16. It is the same as the HQ 16, just a little different style and a couple less bells and whistles.
I bought the HQ sure foot and installed it on the machine to use with rulers. Had no issues doing this. I like the machine and have no problems with it. She will use any thread I put in her. Last quilt I used her for was a King. I have purchased several HQ rulers. If I have any ?'s I look at the HQ 16 videos. I love my machine. |

For sure you will need the ruler foot. I can tell by the photo that the foot pictured is way too short for that purpose. Also, make sure that you purchase rulers & templates made for ruler work. They need to be at least a 1/4" thick. Quilting templates and rulers used for cutting are too thin.

Nope.. But I have a solution for you I just did myself on my Platinum 16. Now it works with my Westalee rulers. |
Call Husqvarna. A local dealer not knowing the product is a red flag for me. Support is very important!
