IDT is Pfaff's name for the integrated dual feed. It's like a built in walking foot that is always there. It is part of the main shank and you can attach all the different feet as needed. It can be disengaged if you don't want it and when using the embroidery unit it disengages too. The dealer says that with this feature you can perfectly match stripes or patterns and there will be no slippage of the fabric layers. Hope that explains it.

Thanks for that. Now I understand. My Designer Diamond (Husqvarna) has a built in feature that must be about the same thing. If you are sewing for instance a sleeve that needs easing, it will sense it and ease without pleating. It also senses seam thicknesses and sews without choking. When you are piecing and matching blocks it does a wonderful job of matching the seams up without all the pinning and adjusting most machines require. Of course it is a $9000 machine, but worth every penny in my mind. I have arthritis and a right wrist that doesn't bend much, so the built in threading feature and auto cutting are important features for me. Proves the old addage, you get what you pay for. I like that my dealer is on spot with any problems or questions we machine owners may have.

I paid 9000.00 + for A Creative Vision. I have had nothing but trouble in the 2 years I have own the 1st one and 2nd.

There was a feed dog problem with the first CV and the dealer gave me a class room CV to replace it. The second one I still have and has had 2 new main boards replacements and light boards. With a multiply of other problems. Thank god I got a 3 year insurance. The repairs have cost almost the same as the machine.

I am really happy that I didn't buy the Pfaff CV. I've been happy with my Viking Sapphire 875. Its lovely to sew and quilt with this machine. :D

Do buy a Pfaff. The machine is awesome. I am now on my second one. I only updated because I wanted all of the features that are on the new Expresions
