DITTO DITTO... : ) Or if you have a grand child make them a smaller quilt out of the extras and say they now have a quilt JUST like Grammy's...that's ALWAYS a big hit!

You could practice 1/2 & 1/4 st and use them for a new original design. Just have fun and enjoy.

I would make pillow shams.

Start playing with the HSTs. There are a lot of blocks that use them. You could make a sampler quilt of all kinds of blocks or find one you like and make a quilt of them. There may be 2 that look great together and make a secondary design. Remember that they have to have the same # of components to blend together the best. (ie. 3x3, 4x4 etc.). If you want to keep it simple do a pinwheel quilt.

Been there done that, keep the extras for inspiration and look for a quilt pattern to incorporate SOME of the pieces into, and save the rest for a scrappy quilt. My guess is if you liked the fabric enough on the first go round, you will still like it in other projects. You can also use some of it for a summertime bed runner when you wouldnt normally use a quilt!:)

I learned too! Made DGS a quilt. way overcut the strips so SIL got the same fabric strips sewn into blocks AND I still enough left over for the dog to get a bed cover too!

I have done that before and used the extra pieces in the backing. It's very attractive and special!

I did the same thing with some 30's prints. So aggravating! I've just set them aside for now and know at some point I'll run across a project that needs them.

Why not make a smaller quilt version - put a solid coordinating border around it & use it for the back of your quilt OR
Make them into larger blocks - use a corrdinating fabric - sew them together for your quilt back
