Oh I love that Blue and white one, that would be great. Google 2 color quilts and you will find quite a few ideas.

Oh and next year you might mention that you would love a GC to your favorite LQS as shopping for the fabric is as good as sewing with it!

I think she bought the fabric for herself. Not really a gift for you. Never heard of this.

I think Anita's Arrowhead would be spectacular in reds/blacks. Good Luck and show us what you end up doing!

The Missouri Star Quilt Co. has a video on making a large star quilt out of 10" squares. It is a very easy pattern to do and looks very nice in 2 or 3 colors. You could cut 4 - 9" squares from each fat qtr., layer 1 print & 1 black square, sew around the outside edges 1/4", cut and make nice large stars. The blocks would be a bit smaller than 24", but still nice large pretty stars. The pattern is at MSQC in their tutorial section. Good luck.

How about a Hunter's Star?

You should probably check to see if you can get additional yardage of the fabrics she provided. Sometimes they are just FQ's with no matching bolts to get more of the same for the binding and or back of the quilt. It may also give you a reason to add more colors to the quilt. Good luck!

I see that someone already posted the google link for two colour quilts, so I did one for red & black quilts. Although many of them do have a pop of other colour, there are a couple that are very striking in just the two colours. My favourite of them is the Burgoyne Surrounded one.https://www.google.ca/search?q=red+%...2F%3B236%3B314

How about a drunkard path? there are so many variations that it is one of the first patterns I go to. I love sewing the curves!

I am confused. Was the fabric from her a gift FOR you? Or was it a gift for herself in a quilt form FROM you?
