And have been dribbling away the rest of the certificates adding highlights to what I splurged on. Shopping for fabric is just plain FUN.

So-you bought another box!!! LOL. I like your way of thinking!!!!

That must have been a really fun trip. I bet I could have given you a run for your money on who spent the most!!

This is at the surplus store and the name brands are at most $3.29 a yard, so can get quite a lot for $100.00. Love shopping for fabric. Who cares if we ever use it all up?

My husband will do the same thing-nap in the car. He will drive me to any quilt shop, any where when we are on a trip. I tell him that he is an "enabler" to my habit and he just laughs!! When I get back in the car he always says "is that all you bought?" Gotta love him! :D

I don't know the most I've spent - a little less than $100 I think. From the very beginning of our marriage his money has been his, mine has been mine (I don't like that but...) so as long as there's food on the table and the kids have clothes - and he can see TV (those bills I pay) he's a happy man and doesn't care what I buy. :)

Add in some tidbits along the way of "specials" and- well, lets say I better do a lot of notary work. :)

Hubby say the bill, but just said I better finish the project.

But I haven't had a bedroom set purchase like this since 1996 when I splurged and bought a set for my last house. I wanted to put it on the bed now, but it's quite faded and as my daughter says- that is so 80s. So the pastel goes away and I'm working on Lakehouse, milk & honey blue hydrangeas. I have all the fabric, 1 topper made (love it!) and another cut out. But it's on the back burner as I finish WIPs 'cause I can't stand having unfinished projects hanging out. 2 more to go and I'm back in business. Hoping to finish before 1st week of August.

PUT IT ON THE FRONT BURNER!!! I LOVE THAT FABRIC!!!
GETTER DONE!!
I WANT TO SEE IT!!!
or, at least post a pic of all the fabric :) :) :)

Count me in the ranks of those with an enabler hubby :D The big joke at the moment is that he is getting more yardage than I am when we shop! Never mind that he hasn't sewn a stitch since the Mariner's Compass he did  - he still puts in his opinion on everything that goes up on the design wall

Seriously, tho - he is my biggest fan, and wants me to have whatever will make my quilting easier and more successful. A gal couldn't ask for more :D (well, not unless one of his lottery tickets hits, and then katie bar the door!!!)

Hear, hear. My husband I have a similar system. When I pay the bills, I also write checks for savings and a check for each of us. That way we both have money to spend as we want, without having to justify it to one another.

The most I have spent on fabric at a time is about $200. MY biggest purchase was buying my phaff, years ago. It felt like a leap of faith.

Being a beginner and relatively new to all of this, my husband thought that quilting would be a "cheap" hobby. We would go to Wally World and buy several pieces of $2 a yard fabric. My mistake was taking him to a real quilt store. He commented, "Gee, everthing is sure expensive here. Look at this $9 a yard!". When I bought several yards of that fabric for the back of a quilt, he got a quick lesson that maybe this wasn't so cheap." (he also has begun making comments as he sees my stash begin to "grow" that wouldn't it be better to wait until I start a specific project to buy the fabric???? LOL) He's the best, though, and I can't complain. He has spent plenty on his hobbies and I am just getting started......

Glad I'm just one of many! Thanks for making me feel less guilty!
