I hope our Wal-Mart brings back fabric.

I have had under 3 inches given at Walmart and Millls End Fabrics and some others. They have explained that it allows for not exactly even cut or for shrinkage. I am more upset when I come back from a brand fabric store and they cut exactly one yard and the beginning cut (not that she made it) was NOT straight and then she shorted me.

3 extra inches is cheating the store!

Yes I like when a sales person doesn't cut right "on the line." I don't shop at Walmart or JoAnns for fabric, I don't care for the quality, but I managed a quilt shop for 3 years and we always cut it 3 inches or some more than what the yardstick said. I think a happy quilter will reward you with a return trip to the shop.

We were in Walmart last week buying fabric and there was about 6 inch left on the bolt . The lady just threw it in with our order! I was in shock. I have never had that happen there before.

And I would much rather the store cheat me than the MULTI BILLION dollar store get cheated out of 3 inches of fabric.

I have LOST more than three inches due to squaring more times than once!

Well I can see some people feeling that way, but it depends on the store policy, and if there was less than a half yard left on the bolt we gave it to the person. If you have a 1/4 left on the bolt, ya can't put it back on the "rack" and who is going to purchase it, ya will die with it and have a messy store.

I love clerks like this! Nothing is more madding then to have them measure to the 1/8th inch & when you question it, etc they get all snotty

Wal-Mart does concider that theft and they will get fired. 3 inches extra per cut does add up. It also causes prices to go up due to the shrink.

Just sayin...

That why a lot of the walmarts lost there fabric( it ok to make sure it evan on the end

And now people from walmart will see this and tell their people about it and make sure it never happens again. Sometimes we should keep quiet. - J
