WOW I would love to have those blocks
|
I have one that may parents started embroidering when they were dating. They got married in 1948. This was when there were only 48 states. When I was a teenager my mother told me that if I would finish embroidering the blocks I could have the quilt. So I did, and the quilt is now mine. We used solid blue sashing with the same binding on scalloped edges.

I did one of these quilts for my daughter that had the state flowers with the name of the state on years ago. I put 7x7 blocks and the Minnesota one on top in the center.

My Nana made the blocks for my daughter. I put them together and had it machine quilted. It is precious. It turned out to be queen size. I did ad a couple of machine embroidered blocks to fill in some space.
