I purchased some 1/2 yard cuts to make HSTs with some fabric I already had cut into squares. I ironed the cuts, then cut them into 4.5 inch squares. Found out the original ones were cut at 5 inch. I cut the large ones down and found out I cut some at 4.25 instead of 4.5. I cut some correctly, then went to mark them for sewing. However, that did not go right either. So I took a nap One of those days - we all have them I guess.

Wow, there must be something in the air. Normally I make my blocks by rows, as I go. Yesterday I wanted to do a quick square in square type pattern. So I cut and sewed all 30 of my 4 patches together to get them out of the way. OMG...Did I say 30? I only needed 15!! The other squares were for the sashing. At this point I don't think I'll be ripping apart 15, 4 patches. I think it's time for a pattern change. Darn, darn, darn.

What I hate is when you rip because your seams didn't line up as well as you wanted, you re-sew it and it still looks exactly as it did when you started. Arrrgh!
I don't check any signs, but I try to listen to my body. Some days I might want to quilt, but I'm just not up for complicated things. Then I just cut 1.5" squares for my postage stamp quilt (using a Klutz glove, because on those days anything can happen). |
