wonder if you could just use one of the free maple leaf patterns, use fall colors and get that same kind of look...sure is pretty

That is a gorgeous pattern. Does anyone know if it includes all the foundation papers?

It doesn't include any HST foundations and it only has one of each of the other foundations you need. The other foundations are for the leaf stems. There are a dozen different squares and you need several of each one.

I made this quilt about 10 years ago. Handquilted it. You definitely need a design wall as the pieces run into each other and it takes some "doing" to keep your fabrics and colors straight. A friend also made this quilt and sold it at "Sisters" show for $1200. I will give mine to a granddaughter who is getting married next October.

This quilt definitely deserves "Heirloom" status. It is gorgeous.

This quilt is so beautiful.

For an easier version, I would make a backgound of mixed colors, add the border then sew all the different color and size leaves on it stacked and cut to layer.

Thanks so very much for the reference--I hadn't encountered Ruth Powers and love her work and web site!

I am also very fond of the board's own Eddie L's "Fall Leaves" quilt. Now I am going to have to make both fall leaves quilts...
