Congrats on you new machine! They are awesome! You didn't do anything bad, you are still working and making money to pay for it! Bad would have been taking food out of you DH's mouth to pay for it, and doesn't sound like he's going to starve any time soon ;-)
Enjoy your machine, can't wait to see pics of the wonderful creations that you make with it. |
I sewed on a Bernina once in the costume lab at school and I can still remember the beautiful feel of it. It was like floating on air. Good for you, Please don't feel guilty, just enjoy it.

Don't feel guilty. You worked. Since retiring I have bought 4 machines I didn't need. But DH said go for it. Makes me a happy machine/fabric lady.

I bought a 830 two weeks ago and also felt so guilty because I had a 440 and 630 bernina. So I just gave my daughter the 440. I love my new machine because I am using it on the long quilting frame.

Call it your retirement gift to yourself for working so hard all these years! Bury that guilt and enjoy your new machine!!

I know how you feel. Every time I find something I feel like I can't do without, my husband talks about how soon he will be retiring and how much we will have to cut back. (I work for him so when he retires I will as well.) Later he talks about all the trips he wants to take once we retire. It feels like his dreams are more important than mine are. I always feel guilty when I buy something I really don't need. It's really not fair for one spouse to rule the desires of the other, but it happens all the time. Some of you are more fortunate than the rest of us.
