Good for you!!! It gets easier the more you do.

Hi, I have tried my hand at FMQ and it's a lot of fun. Like they say, practice, practice. Right now I'm not worrying about my stitch length, hopefully in time that will get better. A helpful tip I wanted to mention is Leah Day has a video of how to modify your quilting foot. I have to agree with her that the bouncing up and down that the foot normally does did bother me, so I modified mine and it is so nice not to have it jumping up and down and to cut out the opening where I can see. If you have a few minutes take a look at how she did this.

You'll be up to 12 coasters soon!

that is fantastic, you are on your way to more excitement of seeing how a quilt looks when done with FMQ
now that wasnt so bad was it  |
Congratulations on taking the plunge! I love the FMQ meandering. I would not win any awards, but I can finish quilts - love doing charity quilts - and have the satisfaction of having a completed quilt at a lot less cost. I LOVE the quilts done professionally by LAQ and totally admire the beautiful work done professionally, but I can't justify the expense for quilts that I know will be used and worn. And, doing my own quilts made it more reasonable when I told my Hubby I needed my new machine with the larger bed for quilting!!! LOL!!!

Congratulations! Doesn't it feel good? I bet it does, it is like anything else, thinking about and actually doing it on fabric are two different things, it can be fun!

Yay...well done.

Congratultions! I still haven't got up the nerve to do a large quilt yet, but someday I will.
