Actually I have more or less stopped looking at new patterns, mainly because the quilt mags are now being put into sealed clear covers and as the mags are so expensive here I like to flip through and see if there is anything in them that I think I might like before I buy them (not going to fork out $10 or more for a magazine that doesn't have anything in it to interest me)
Okay I tell partial fur-phys too  as I do subscribe to an online magazine but this only comes out every 2 months so I still don't look as often as I used to :D I do sometimes look online at patterns but not as often as I used to do either. Must be wearing off some  |
Hmmmm, nope. Don't think so. I love looking at the pictures and seeing the new techniques. What I do need is a better way to organize the patterns I want to try. I read, file and forget. sigh.

No, I studied the Missouri Star Quilt tutorials & found some easy ideas to use up pre cuts!
|
I think it would be just as hard to quit looking at patterns as it is to get off the Quilting Forum and do the laundry.
|
You do laundry?
|
I know I couldn't :) :)
|
Not in this lifetime! :)
|
New patterns are dreams for me. Your memories should never be greater than your dreams, so keep the patterns coming!
|
To stop looking at new patterns is to stop buying fabric...
If I do one I must do the other...nope. |
I cannot imagine ever stop looking at patterns. I probably could get alot of other things done with the saved time, but who would want to do that? Not me!
|
I don't want to be known as a "Quitter". I have a reputation to uphold and a legacy to pass down.

Impossible!

NO WAY!!! my friend that just started quilting, less than 2 yrs(thank ME, very much)--- just admitted to me "I'M A PATTERN PIGGY!"--she can't pass up any free patterns on the internet! ---might need them!

I spend so much time searching for & printing great patterns but I don't take the time to organize them into notebooks. Then when I want one of them, I can't find them. It's hopeless. Nooooo, I'm the one who's hopeless. It's just so much fun though.

Stop looking....is that possible..i don't think so lol

It might help. But can we really do it?

actually, you are right - - it would help us accomplish a lot more if we went all the way back to the first pattern, magazine, or book we purchased and just worked through the patterns .. Just last week, I think I figured it out - - the only thing different from what inspired us a few years ago and today are the fabrics ... basically, we are working with very simple quilt blocks. <wave> |

On the other hand, new ways to tweek the old patterns also draws me...so ...... if the "old stuff was "old" than why do we by reproductions, or make yo-yo's with the new Batiks and Asians? The rich new fabrics give the old faithful "pazzaz"....(you know what I mean!) |
What else is there to dream about and to loose sleep over?

We have a choice - - world affairs or fabric and patterns .... hmmm... I am with you - - the fabric/pattern idea is far more appealing <wave> |
