Do you think if we quit looking at new patterns we would be happier with the ones we currently have, and more likely to finish our WIP's and UFO's?

bluteddi 01-10-2011 09:04 AM

Stopp looking?????!! Bite your tongue!!

JulieR 01-10-2011 09:13 AM

Umm...No. I look at patterns to escape from my WIPs :)

just_the_scraps_m'am 01-10-2011 09:21 AM

NO, & wouldn't life be boring???

cjomomma 01-10-2011 09:38 AM

Nope those new patterns are my dreams.

raptureready 01-10-2011 09:46 AM

Maybe, but we always need dreams and goals to achieve. And sometimes our abilities just "out grow" certain projects and we need to move on.

Now, go wash your mouth out with soap. LOL

quiltsRfun 01-10-2011 09:51 AM

If I stop looking at new patterns does that mean I have to stop playing with designs in EQ7? I'm afraid if we all stopped looking at new patterns it would disrupt the time/space continuum, not to mention have a serious effect on the economy. (Think magazine, fabric, notions purchases.) LOL

missgigglewings 01-10-2011 10:52 AM

Stop looking at patterns??? Can that really happen?????

Raggiemom 01-10-2011 11:02 AM

How would you even do that????

amma 01-10-2011 11:12 AM

WHAT??? Surely you are kidding... right? :D:D:D

maine ladybug 01-10-2011 12:33 PM

It might work for some people......but I'm not one of them!

Joanieu 01-10-2011 12:41 PM

Now that is too funny.... I am always looking at new patterns so I make my to do list even bigger and dream of these new ones I can make... lol

tutty 01-10-2011 02:20 PM

I have so many sticky notes sticking out of mags and books it would take 3 lifetimes to even get started on them. In fact have them out on the table to sort through and come to some conclusions. Another stack starting in my sewing room to look through (heh heh ) and will go to www.paperbackswap.com to swap my done with ones for some new maybe ones !! gotta go oh and was you dreaming a nightmare with that question ?!

bjnicholson 01-10-2011 02:22 PM

Are you a secret member of the quilt police? Inquiring minds need to know

quiltingaz 01-10-2011 02:25 PM

Then we would have to stop reading posts on QB and looking at all the beautiful quilts others have made as that gives same inspiration as looking at patterns. I just don't think that will work at all ;)

Leann Marie 01-10-2011 03:11 PM

LOL ! I think I'm making a note under Proverbs 31:13 to read she looks for patterns and fabric and works with willing hands.

Airwick156 01-10-2011 03:18 PM

If we were to quit looking at patterns....the fabric makers will STOP MAKING FABRIC....we can't allow that to happen.

give up looking at new patterns????...thats how I get inspiration...besides wouldnt that be a sin?...

watson's mom 01-10-2011 09:55 PM

It's a quilter's job to help keep the economy going therefore it is our duty to look at new patterns. Further to that, we also have to help the LQS stay in business and keep their employers working. This keeps truck drivers delivering fabrics, notions, thread, machines etc. It's a rough job but someone has to do it, might as well be a quilter.

jeanneb52 01-11-2011 03:42 AM

"STOP" what is that word, what does it mean? Is that another crazy quilter's term? I know it's not in MY vocabulary...

plainpat 01-11-2011 03:47 AM

I look at patterns to keep from looking at UFOs :-)

jemcnutt 01-11-2011 06:12 AM

Everytime I buy a new book or pattern, I remember the crates of magazines, books and patterns stacked in the garage! But I still buy it!

bigsister63 01-11-2011 06:24 AM

You can look but not buy new patterns. However I am one who does not like to make same pattern twice since I want new skills or try new patterns.

JAGSD 01-11-2011 07:01 AM

hmm... Stop/ Quit...not happening here.... That is "reading material" and we must set a "good example" to our children by getting in our daily "reading" hour. ((giggle giggle))

mountain deb 01-11-2011 07:23 AM

I see patterns in everyday life, so no, it would not work.

trolleystation 01-11-2011 10:41 AM

You have been 'cooped up' in your house too long.
