Congratulations, and welcome to Elna Land! I've got a 6003 that's 12 years old that goes with me on retreats or classes, and a 740 that sits upstairs waiting. They are wonderful machines, and you'll spend so many wonderful hours at your new baby! Regular maintenance is key, and it sounds like you've got good resources.

I'm excited for you too. Wait until they see your quilts then they will understand. ENJOY

I haven't been able to quilt for a couple of years except for a few small projects. I have been living vicariously through all of you quilters on the board. It is a machine that I got at an LQS. It was traded in for a higher level machine and I think I got a good deal on it. It is an Elna Quilter's Dream 7200. It comes with six hours of training classes and I am going to need every minute as I have never used a machine like this before. Maybe, after a few months of practice I will be able to post some pics of some real quilts. No one in my family understands how excited I am or why. I had to post because I know some of you will understand.

Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! Happy foot dance! I remember when I got my fancy machine! I got free sewing lessons with mine too, but I was so excited that it took me over a week to take it out of the box! Now I can't imagine going back to my simple machine from Walmart, but I keep "Penny" just in case "Petunia" needs to be serviced. I have learned that it is better to have the simple machine handy than to live with no machine. You will learn that too! Lol! Congratulations!

I have the Pro Quilting Queen which I bought in 09, just got it back from repair, luckily it was only a fuse. I love my Elna, this is the 2nd Elna I own. The 1st one is in the shop right now , needs a new board. I used it 9 years before I had a problem so all in all good machine.

You will be spoiled with all the new stuff but not to worry you will get used to it pretty quick. Have fun enjoy.

I so happy for you, welcome to the joy of a new machine. You'll have so much fun learning how to use your new toy.
I totally understand the thrill of a new machine. In September I cashed in an insurance policy that my parents took bought for me when I was a newborn in 1957, it was enough for 2 new Pfaffs. I love my new toys.
I sew with treadle machines in addition to the new Pfaffs. Yesterday it was storming all day, the power was flickery, so I used a 1917 White Rotary treadle machine for the charity quilt top I was making.
