And it was so simple. Why didn't I think of this before?
I don't have a designated sewing space so I sew at my dining room table and sit in a hard wooden chair. Or at least I used to. My computer is in another room and I love to sit here and looks at quilt pictures all day long instead of making my own. The other day I decided to take my nice comfy computer chair to the dining room to sew. Now the hard chair is at my computer and I just can't sit here for too long anymore. I've made seven table runners this week except for the binding. As Charlie Sheen would say - "Winning!" |
What ever works, great!

I have a nice office chair and both my computer and my sewing machine....
it always helps to be comfortable. It makes it more fun to get projects done. Are you going to share photos?
As Charlie Sheen would say - "Winning!"
ha ha. Quilting IS winning. Now if I could just work on that tiger blood ... |
lol
well that is a great idea...I ought to try it with a metal folding chair.
Love it! Glad you found something cushy for your tushy!
Me too...I use an office chair for sewing now and can sew for much longer times. Glad you figured it out...quilting is fun! |
Clever idea, but don't let's start quoting Charlie Sheen ;p
I use a padded roll around stool, like you find in Dr. offices. Don't buy one labeled as that, just take the back off a padded air lift desk chair. Walmart had very good quality padded desk chairs at the start of school for $60 and later marked down to $25. Great colors too and Staples didn't have any color but black for twice the price and less padding in the seat.
LOL (winning)!!

LOL, way to go!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for you....Where there is a will there is a way!
I will be sharing pictures of the table runners soon. I want to get the binding done first.
As for the pattern I'm using.... just sewing squares together in rows using Moda charm packs. I needed something stress free. LOL |
Good for you. Enjoy.

LOL, ain't that the truth! |
Another way to do more quilting is not cook or clean (LOL).
Seriously, when I cook, I try to make enough for 2 meals. That gives me more time to quilt. |
LOL Now you will get withdraws from not being on the computer sure hope this chair is easy to move. Just teasing. Enjoy your good chair.

Love it, I can just wheel to the side to press, etc. Only paid$20 for it years and years ago. Good investment. |
Great idea!
So smart :-D
Good thinking.
Me too, and I love it. I love my sewing room, it is ALL mine, except when the Grandkids come over, then they watch TV in there and the other one plays on the computer, and I am displaced!
I use my computer chair also. It's great , I roll from my sewing table to my computer back to my sewing table to my ironing board.

Looking forward to your pictures. :-)
Good for you! I spend way too much time looking online - hard to get anything done.
Good for you!
Funny how sometimes the easy solution is the best one. Glad you are spending more time doing and less time looking.
Way to go.
I HAVE A NICE COMPUTER CHAIR WITH ROLLERS. I JUST MOVE IT WHERE I WANT IT WHEN I NEEED IT AND I'M GOOD TO GO. I FIND IF I LEAVE IT NEAR MY MACHINE, I USE MY MACHINE MORE OFTEN. I THINK IT IS ALL IN MY HEAD!! BUT IT WORKS:)
My chairs are both not so good but enjoy both.
I have my computer set up by my embroidery machine so can use the office chair by just turning it. I would hate to use anything else when I am sewing.
Good for you! I sew at the kitchen table too. Luckily my computer chair was close enough that I saw it and switched right away. But, I know what you mean about how sometimes the easiest things escape our notice, and when we see it, it is like a smack to the forehead!!
